Plain and simple Destiny's model is all about getting you to login every day and holding a carrot in front of you. Making you advance just to get to the next level. Making you farm, grind, and work your ass off until your fingers bleed as long as you are under the impression that you are getting better and becoming a better character.

So like most games then, grinding for the best stuff then new dlc drops and its worthless abd ur invested time is wasted too.. People do it cause they enjoy the grind and the cycle, if u dont, dont play. Simples..

Some people don't mind that, isn't that what Several other games do as well?
-
Yes it is, take World of Warcraft as an example. Pretty much common on MMO world.

Edited by Spaceman: 12/9/2014 3:39:11 PMI don't mind it... I think people expected more from Bungie. I do expect a deeper involvement in a game. One of the best MMORPG is Eve Online... Bungie could work toward something similar, but it seems they don't care much for MMO. A raid over and over... that's just the same thing. Why not offer a alliance conquering mode for planet zones and resources. This game has no real risk vs reward. You can die and not lose anything. How about an alliance war mode where you lose your gear when you die? That would surely make it interesting.

Funny because they did created an gear structure like an MMO, then pretty much forced people to crucible/raid, and now back to get gear MMO style. I guess they are still trying which formula will give them better $$$ results, with less work, so they can allocate their resources to Destiny 2 and leave a small team working on Destiny 1 "improvements". A Call to Arms will be fun! 12 Guardians (or more) against a mixed army of Fallen and Hive or something like that, real war!

How much staying power does this game have? If you invest all this time to get to a point where you do the same over and over, your success eventually becomes irrelevant. And if Bungie simply does the same as this DLC, why grind when you can just get buy in with the next expansion. Bungie needs to puts in a player driven economy with planetary disputes that involve wars and valuable resources... If not, I think many of us will get bored. The problem is, we are all spread out over a bunch of servers that are copies of everything else. The need to find a way to get more people together with a constantly changing environment.

I agree. However, same happen to WoW, at some point they lost a lot of players, and the expansions were the life savers. I guess this will be a good experiment for Bungie, we will see how it goes. I do enjoy the game for now, but they need to be creative just like you said, and come with new things, not only DLC.
