How did you become a Sniper?
Was it in Destiny or in a game before this? Are you still working on your sniping skills or have you mastered the craft? How did you get started and where are you with it now?
If you really like sniping, consider joining Sniper Gang, if you haven't already.

RNG kept giving me sniper rifles so...

I always liked sniping, but patience and time sealed the deal in this game.

Some guys are way to good at this... I miss a ton but keep at her!

I didn't.

1 ReplyBecause of all the 420 trickshot montages. It was all "y y off the rail double 360 collateral."

Thorn bounty limited my options. Sniping is fun in this game. Reminds me more of halo sniping as compared to COD sniping which I never got the hang of

Always loved sniping it games. With the amazing shooting mechanics in Destiny it came natural.

I got into sniing because of BO2 Multiplayer :)

3 RepliesMy personal opinion is just to start practicing in PVE and work your way to PVP. But..... You are correct. Destiny sniping is a nice blend between the one shot headshot and twoshot bodyshot, no weapon sway best featured in Halo, and the fast flowing ADS and gun handling of a COD game. If you where half decent at sniping in ether of these two games getting good at sniping in Destiny should be a relatively simple transition. BUT.... Sniping in COD and Destiny is a trick that eliminates the weak. Good snipers will DESTROY any newbies. In Halo sniping is a skill anyone can be good at. Granted, there are some amazing snipers out there, but pretty much everyone can find a sniper, pick it up and swap there play style. My advice? If you have a Halo game, try sniping in that until your proficient. Then PVE Destiny, then PVP. If you have a COD through that into the mix and you should get significantly better in a bit of time and lots of patience. Holy hell can I rant sometimes. Hope I helped ^.^

Got started during cod4 days

3 Repliesyawn. good snipers wouldn't be in a "sniper gang" lmao

I became a sniper through halo reach. After being murdered by my friend who had a plasma pistol, I realized that presice fire from a distance was a good option. I quickly became skilled with both the dmr and the sniper rifle. It's also pretty fun to kill them right before they get into a scorpion sit hey can mow the field. I have been a hated and feared competitor ever since.

Halo 2. My dad always sniped me, and I always got so angry at it. I decided to train on fusion coils and on my brother. I'm now clan sniper and clan leader.

1 ReplyGot into sniping after seeing some aggressive sniper vids on YouTube. Wanted to get good at it and did. My main sniping game is the Battlefield series, but i snipe a lot on CoD too. I snipe on Destiny, but not nearly to the extent of the other games. Sniper rifles not being primaries, mixed with waiting for ammo, and a damage model that doesn't increase damage output the closer you are to your target, makes Destiny more of a long range sniping game, and I'm more into close range sniping. The lack of 60fps also makes drag scoping quite choppy to me. Others may not notice it, but it's clear as day in comparison to BF4 and CoD.

1 ReplyI was in a sniping clan on Halo, and I was better than the captain that led it.
-
1 ReplyBlack Ops 2 for me. Never much of a sniper before that game but the Ballista was just so much fun.
-
1 ReplyI looted an icebreaker, which thanks to its regenerating ammo made for a good practice weapon. Eventually got the hang of it, and now its hard to have anything else but snipers as a secondary.
-
4 RepliesIm not a great sniper but i get some pretty awesome shots in the crucible. Your best bet is using a sniper in pve and sniping at unnecessarily close ranges so you get good with quick aiming. When you start don't try to go for super quick headshots, just take your time until you get good with following enemies with your scope. The quick reaction headshots will come with time and practice. (Personally i hate fusion rifles/shotguns so i use a sniper for pvp and pve)

Medal of Honor: Frontline is the game that got me into sniping.

BF3. The thing about destiny sniping vs bf3 is NO BULLET DROP! I love the way sniping is handled in destiny. EZ especially with high stability gun and perks. I think Halo left out bullet drop too but I found it a bit more difficult. Maybe because I was younger.

I started sniping in CoD4. The M21 was life.

Being a montage clip-whore in halo 3 made me the sniper I am today lol
