Honestly, this game's PvP would actually go from being a joke to pretty good if there was a game-type with no Supers and no heavy ammo. I die from primary weapons maybe 10% of the time now, while the overwhelming majority of deaths are caused by rocket launchers and supers, which is about as skill-less as it can possibly get.
Just call it barebones or something.
No supers
No heavy ammo
Special ammo on timers, like heavy ammo is now
Boom, now you'll have competitive PvP that won't have people facepalming half of the time. You can thank me later Bungie.
Edit: I'm not asking for a PvP nerf, for those of you who have no reading comprehension. You can keep your game modes where you use your Super/Heavy as a crutch, all I'm asking for is a Barebones-variant of the game types we already have, like a Barebones Control, Barebones Clash, etc. There's a reason Halo was so successful - it wasn't filled with skill-less crap and gimmicks. Your competency actually mattered.
-
1 ReplyIt's called inferno mode and it's coming eventually
-
I like this idea I also like the idea of no weapons ! Melee, nades and supers only
-
2 RepliesId rather have a game mode with no special ammo
-
3 RepliesHope they don't implement this , if you can't succeed in the crucible how it is then you don't deserve to succeed in the crucible at all
-
You basically want a team slayer pro gametype. Let bungie make a CTF playlist first. Not another team slayer variant.
-
2 Replies
Your competency actually mattered
yet conveniently you're using an alt to hide your characters so we can't actually see your crucible stats.

I bet if Bungie decided to remove heavy/super and, let only this guy use them then suddenly they wouldn't be that bad.
-
I agree that destiny pvp is a joke. However, it'll be enough to add extra bullet damage to all guns to fix it. So, making a hardcore more mode w extra bullet damage would make this game competitive.
-
2 RepliesThe whole point of Destiny is a new type of shooter mechanics. It is one of the few things that set this game apart. The whole point of a super and heavy is to change the tide or further cement your place. If you want a Destiny without all of the gimmicks of supers just play Titan or Activision other block buster; Call of Duty. The super adds a change of pace to a slow game or can add a sense of danger of killing before anything else.
-
THANK YOU! I agree 100% w this post. Please make this gametype Bungie! This way everyone can have fun in PvP. PLEASE.
-
This is a terrible idea there are plenty of other shooters you can playy if thats what you want. Go play COD( any), Battlefield, Halo ANYTHING but leave Destiny WE DONT NEED YOU HERE. So tired of seeing threads like this or the "insert super here" move is so OP. The suprs are what differentiate my Gaurdian from other shooter avatars. EVERY supr in this game can be stopped cold if done correctly. .Iv shut down many anx been shut down plenty too. will you stop every super? NO so what? The super moves are fine YOU are the problem, play improve your skils and enjoy the game.

1 ReplyOh my my god it sounds like a 7 year old on call of duty
-
1 ReplyYes, its called call of duty. Destiny PvP is nothing more than an afterthought. Bungie for some reasons bends over backwards to cater to the loud PvP whiners and it will be the downfall of this game. They should scrap crucible altogether and be focusing on the PvE aspects. That is the reason a very large majority of people bought this game, not for the PvP..

Edited by jmbe444: 12/8/2014 11:40:38 PMGo play CoD. Seriously, that's exactly the same thing you just described. Or Halo if you want the sci fi twist
-
no the fact that every scout does the same damage....every shotty does the same damage....every hand cannon does the same damage...makes it so without the VARIETY of the other weapon classes? PvP would be so incredibly boring sooooooooooo fast
-
Heavy ammo is so far down the list of even potential problems. Lol
-
6 RepliesWaaaa. I can't dodge a couple of rockets and supers. They add flavor to the game, something that is much needed to a lackluster pvp. I'm excited for the plethora of new game modes coming out with the DLC.
-
I think heavy is ok because it gives something to fight over and still spawns in more than one place. Supers though, i agree they need to go in pvp. Also, warlocks spawning with 2 grenades everytime they respawn, this shi t annoys the hell out of me, thats ridiculously OP especially bc their grenades are pretty much guaranteed kills.
-
2 RepliesIt's already exists in CoD
-
Agreed
-
2 RepliesYou're bad at PVP
-
Or a more objective game mode not based on killing
-
2 RepliesKnives only or gtfo.
-
2 RepliesEdited by m00ninite: 12/8/2014 9:22:39 PMOkay buuuuuut "skill-less crap and gimmicks" makes you sound like yet another complaining teenager. It's okay if you don't like Supers and heavy ammo - and I actually am in support of modes that are things like shotgun only, no heavy, etc - however, that doesn't mean that the modes as is are broken or require less skill as you put it. Sorry to be so blunt here, but if you don't enjoy Destiny Crucible, then maybe another FPS title without space magic would better suite your competitive online needs.

1 ReplyBungie already made that game mode it's called Halo. BTW It's Awesome.
