Will Black Hammer dethrone Icebreaker?

Its impact is notably higher then Icebreakers (32 while Icebreaker's is 25) and it has the new perk "White Nail" with the effect "Rapidly landing three precison shots will refill the magazine."
This means that even though you only have 3 shots in the mag, it is functionally infinite once you are landing only precision shots. The dps this will have on bosses is crazy.
I think people are going to be praying for this drop and it will be a "must have". Especially since it frees up your exotic spot. THe only thing Icebreaker has on it is that it's much more forgiving and you don't need to land precisions.

Ice Breaker is eternal, Black Hammer is a fart in the wind, flavor of the expansion and then it weakens. As long as it's not exotic, it will never beat IB. Also BH is very sittulational.

No black hammer is far from good its a great weapon but we are all human we make mistake. So having a Icebreaker which regens ammo is better then a black hammer cause you will always miss a shot and loss your ammo

I have both and my ice breaker sits there and regens ammo for my black hammer and that's it, never gets shot

Only situationally. For the proper situation, the Black Hammer destroys the Icebreaker. But on the majority of situations, Icebreaker still rules supreme. If you can have both, that's ideal. If you can have one, you're still pretty well off.

Nope, black hammer is good and awesome against slow moving targets with large crit spots but ice breaker is just awesome all the time. Having both is nice :)

On bosses maybe, but for picking off trash mobs IB is probably better in most scenarios. Personally I'd rather have Praedyth's Revenge.

My iron banner sniper rifle has dethroned my IB in some situations, rolled it with rodeo, field scout, fire fly & void dmg, has more impact than IB and a less recoil. Nothing beats ammo regeneration though.
