Will Black Hammer dethrone Icebreaker?

Its impact is notably higher then Icebreakers (32 while Icebreaker's is 25) and it has the new perk "White Nail" with the effect "Rapidly landing three precison shots will refill the magazine."
This means that even though you only have 3 shots in the mag, it is functionally infinite once you are landing only precision shots. The dps this will have on bosses is crazy.
I think people are going to be praying for this drop and it will be a "must have". Especially since it frees up your exotic spot. THe only thing Icebreaker has on it is that it's much more forgiving and you don't need to land precisions.

I like icebreaker because you don't have to worry about ammo. And that isn't getting dethroned. So icebreaker all the way.

2 RepliesBy the description it seems like it'll automatically reload from your reserve ammo not provide you with extra like the regenerative effect of the icebreaker. So the answer is no, it won't dethrone the icebreaker as king of PvE snipers

Fire damage is going to be important in the new raid, I'd assume, so IceBreaker can still be king for a bit longer ;)

It will be a boss slayer for sure. Maybe not "better" than ice breaker, but will be the perfect legendary alternative wild using gjallarhorn as your exotic

have to say no. sounts to me like it will be a great sniper but with out regening ammo it will not dethrone the icebreaker.

This implies there's a time limit to which you have to do these three precision shots in order to qualify for the refill effect. Unless it has the same stability as Patience and Time, I don't see this being a liability unless you're fighting large waves of enemies or an enemy with a large weak spot.

If this is a raid drop, I gotta get it; and it doesn't take up your exotic slot. VoC+Black Hammer+Gjallarhorn all maxed will be unstoppable.

30 RepliesMy Supremacy has already dethroned Icebreaker. Field Scout + Clown Cartridge = 6-9 round mags on reload. • I would also like to note that the additional rounds on clown cartridge are bonus rounds, and are not pulled from your total reserve ammo. • It also has performance rounds, which grants bonus reserve ammo when you kill with it. Therefore, this makes a boss slayer, with a 6-9 round mag. I can also stretch 24 rounds for an astronomically long amount of time by using both reserve ammo perks in an economical way. • Last thing I would like to note is that Icebreaker and Supremacy both have identical ROF, and Supremacy only does 5% less damage than Icebreaker.

Except for Ultras, how many headshots do you think you can land on a mob before it drops? If you have to land 3 to get a reload, I'm thinking that it will be nice against bosses, but not for everything else (like Icebreaker).

Pacience and Time. Best sniper. And if u run out of ammo switch to IB, regen, switch back.... 12 more rounds
