Why was the Archon Priest imprisoned in his cell with a GUN IN HIS HAND?
I can't be the only who finds that strange, can I??

Consensus seems to be that we need to push the cell off the cliff into the blue lava instead of releasing him, because the Archon Priest had a shotgun enema before he was captured. Also, jumbo colonoscopy if his gun misfires.

For all those saying it isn't his actual cell need to play the strike again. Dinklebot specifically says" it's a cell, from the prison of elders. The Archon Priest is still inside" as soon as you enter the area where the cell is.

I'm also thinking about, how in Destiny (the future) where there are huge monsters and wizards, fusion rifles, time traveling, oracles that can kill you by simply existing or Gorgons that can kill your whole team simply by looking at you... 9 RepliesIf you want to be logical it could've been a last ditch effort to confine him and they never got a chance to remove his weapon and wouldn't risk opening the door to retrieve it from him. If you want to be realistic then I say that we guardians carry up to 18 weapons on us yet only see the one on our back and in our hands.

1 ReplyCaptured is Cryostasis.. The cell was rigged to put his fleeing ass to sleep before he could bail. He can't use a gun when he's frozen in time like Han Solo in carbonite.

A. Push cell off the cliff killing the Priest in the process. B. Contact the Queen for her to retrieve the cell C. Open the cell and start a lengthy and pointless fight that will end in either the same result as A and B

Do you see how big some of the -blam!-ers in this game get? He needed his gun so aliens like that giant hive knight sardok didn't destroy him internally in prison.

It all sounds cool and would read a book about it. Should I blame the storyline in Destiny? Or should I blame lack of books that go more into detail.

Edited by Tezztor: 12/8/2014 8:18:21 AMThe real question is why is anybody even concerned with the archon at all? The only real danger of the encounter is all the adds that come along. The archon is laughable by itself. The little stealthy blade wielding ninjas and yellow named captains are the real threat in nightfall. Doesn't seem like the fallen are really much of a threat when teams of three guardians can wade through whole companies of fallen troops and kill their command without batting an eyelash.

I always found it weird that we fought through all those enemies because we were trying to stop his "Resurrection" or release or whatever. We actually stop it....Then we let him out.

From what I heard, he hid the weapon contraband up his a$$, and the vex forgot to do a full cavity search on him when he imprisoned him.

1 ReplyI noticed this the first time I played it.. I assumed he was frozen some how when they captured him.. Notice all the steam coming out of the hatch when he is released.

Honestly, I don't think we guardians actually open the cell. After killing all the enemies, his cell kinda just opens on it's own. I imagine it's simply we are too late to the party, and miss our window to stop his resurrection.

Also another thought the fallen ketch aka big ass war ship, why dont we utilize that piece of hardware...
