The Cryptarch 2 Blue Engrams on level up on all 3 characters
The Cryptarch was supposed to be improved but it seems worse. It now takes longer to level up and I still receive 2 blue engrams every time? This is happening to all 3 of my characters. Thanks bungie I love the game!

The colour of the drops is not important; the light level is. The old system where legendary was automatically higher level than rare is gone. Save your high level blues and infuse them into your lower level purples.

Rank 105 Cryptarch, have gotten about 20 legendary engrams from his packages.

Yep. My last reward became 2 blues, which then became 2 of the same worthless cloak. Improved rewards indeed. This is the really the first day I've played since FC4 came out, and after seeing the dlc and all of the same irritations, I'm going back to FC4.

I got a mote of light when I ranked him up what happened to all the purples I used to get.

I totally agree. It took 16 blue engrams( if you did nightfall) to rank up 3000 points and I would get purples and blues half the time but mostly blues. I didn't mind that because naturally playing the game, you could get blue engrams easily. However, now it takes 32 blue engrams( with nightfall completion) to rank up 3000 points and I have gotten just blue engrams twice and one time a legendary since patch. I ranked up only three times since patch. I feel as though they made it worse because now you have less chances to rank up and more time wasted to rank up getting 32 blue engrams.

Yes, the rate of legendaries in your mail increased from 1% to 1.01%. Don't you just love word play? Oh oh and apparently legendaries can give you blues again, yaaay... [spoiler]seriously bungie cut the shit, pretty much everything in your last update has made all the people playing your game even more pissed off[/spoiler]

Let's face it, this guy is beyond useless once you get past level 10 now. What's point of decrypting anything if all you get is blue when that is useless as soon as you hit lvl 20. He doesn't even sell blue or purple engrams, which he should. Oh and when you find that purple engram, for a pair of boots for your character cause that's the last thing you need for complete legendary set, they turn to energy or a mote. Master RaTroll should be his name....

5 RepliesI don't see the problem; I mean those rares are true treasures of the Golden Age.The mere fact that you decrypt them and get seven same pairs of gauntlets only further demonstrates just how rare these items are, right!? We should all be thanking the Cryptarch for all the weapon parts and Hadronic Essence he supplies us with, all at no cost. The Cryptarch is one of a dying breed of true philanthropists the world sadly needs more of. Yours sincerely Retsam Loohar

I have now leveled the cryptarch up 8 times since patch, and have seen a total of 1 legendary (which was of course energies.) It now takes almost twice as long to level him. Pre-patch I could have leveled him up at least a dozen times and my money says I would have seen more legendaries. How is this a "fix" exactly?

Just hit level 78 and got two blue engrams, both turned into strange coins. I'm ok with that.

He seems worse to me, not better. I've gotten nothing but blues out of all three characters.

Not seeing any changes here either. Not a legendary engram to be seen in my now-twice-as-hard-to-get legendary packages.

I agree the Cryptarch still is terrible. He is useless after level 20 why does he stink so badly?
