confused about atheon... please help bungie, need it from the source
okay, i thought i had it figured out, but now im becoming increasingly frustrated and confused. ill just use my past two weeks experience for example here, and then go into detail about the confusion.. I have 3 characters all over 27, over the last 2 weeks i have ran the WHOLE raid with each, twice on normal, and on top of that, 10+ atheon kills.. In two weeks i have gotten ZERO raid gear drops. while i did get 4 weapons(all duplicate items...). i know that is just terrible luck from RNG, but really? how is a man supposed to get prepped for a DLC when you wont give him a chance lol. i just finished killing atheon twice very fast, on one of my characters who had already done the whole raid. both atheon kills? no drops.
So to my point of confusion... i understand killing lets say, the templar, twice wont get you any drops, but from how the game is set up im pretty sure Atheon is supposed to drop something EVERY kill. Here's my thinking process on this... If you complete the Weekly heroic for instance, and for this topic we'll say you did the level 26. prior to completing the strike it will tell you the rewards you WILL get. after completion, you can redo the strike, but you WONT have any guaranteed rewards, nor will they appear on the mission rewards list.
Back to the Vault.. prior to completing the Vault it will tell you the rewards you WILL get. after completion, you can redo the vault... Unlike the strike, it still says rewards(gear and materials), which would tell me that everytime i complete the vault i will get some sort of reward. I believe this is logical thinking.
To those that may comment saying something along the lines of "the rewards up there listed are for hard." that is incorrect. back to the strike.. if you complete on 26, you can go redo on 28, all the rewards listed previously are stripped, and now you get only the last 3 strange coins you are allowed to obtain. while on the hard compared to normal, its all the same rewards listed, plus "unknown rewards."
Help would be greatly appreciated as to why everytime i complete the raid i am getting NOTHING AT ALL. not even chatter whites anymore...
EDIT: i just read the bungie posted article about running it multiple times and you will get nothing.. but it makes no sense based on the logic above.... sooo yeaa...

3 RepliesI get what you saying but for each boss beaten you will get a single drop on normal and then a single on hard unless you just do hard and you get double but you'll get only rewards for each boss once per difficulty. So you running VoG normal 5 times with same toon you'll only get rewards once from first run Now even if you beat hard it'll still say that you can get gear and rewards, it's believed to be due to the unfound raid chests in the vault. We know no one has done the vault 100% yet and that 2 chest remain unfound bungie apparently have said both of them things about the missing chests and no beating raid 100%

6 RepliesSounds to me that your are running the raid more than once on a character that has already completed the raid for that week. I'm going to say this in case you didn't know but you can only receive rewards per designated area>Oracles, Templar, GateKeeper and Atheon. You can run the raid on Hard and receive new rewards for that character. Sure you can redo the vault(as you posted above) but you won't get any new rewards for that week. You can only earn rewards once per week on each character. Hope this helps you dude.

8 RepliesThe rewards listed are possible rewards, not guaranteed and you have gotten the chance the last time we did the Iron Banner it gave lvl 30 gear.
