...to me right now.
Incase you've been living under a rock for the past couple years, NASA has been developing the next generation of human space travel.
Today is a great day for the entire world, a step towards exploring farther places then we've thought before. NASA's "space ship", Orion, completed it's first flight and touchdown today without a hitch, reaching 3,600 miles above the Earth. Now even though this is just a test, it's a test that worked. It's a test that says, hey, maybe we will be walking on Mars one day. Maybe we will be taking vacations to the moon in the future.

I just wanted to interrupt the daily shitposting precession here to bring you some actual good news, thoughts on Orion and the next step of human space travel?
-
It will probably explode and kill everyone on board like that one time in the 1900's
-
Hence why it's "my" problems not "your" problems. Kind of implies that it's only relevant to me
-
About time some steps to space travel have been taken.
-
Incase- misspelled exploring farther places then we've thought before. -than, not then. misplaced adjective and lack of vocabulary to explain thoughts. alt could be, "exploring places farther than we ever thought possible." space ship- misspelled Now even though- use of now unnecessary It's a test that says, hey, maybe we will be walking on Mars one day. Maybe we will be taking vacations to the moon in the future.- missing quotation marks and capital "H" in hey I just wanted to interrupt the daily shitposting precession here to bring you some actual good news, thoughts on Orion and the next step of human space travel?- procession, not precession. no need for word actual. no period before "thoughts" to break up thought and prevent a run-on sentence.

It's nice to see that NASA is working on heavy lift vehicles again. On a side note. This technology is very old.
-
It seems like a lot of different groups are trying to push space techonology and how far we can reach. It's starting to become very fun to watch all these different groups advance. The future is exciting.

On the one hand, this is hella cool, but on the other. NASA seems to be pulling in two directions with Orion on one side an private start ups on the other. I can't help but feel big government projects like this are a bit of an anachronism. Plus, first manned flight in 2021, never mind going anywhere near Mars. Gonna take a while.

Gotta love dem tags

I THINK ANYONE AGAINST SPACE TRAVEL NEEDS A KICK TO THE NUTS

Edited by Punished: 12/6/2014 4:08:31 AMI think it's awesome that we're trying to venture to another planet. Eventually we will have to inhabit a new planet/home for humanity to live. Or maybe once the population gets to be too much and there's little to almost no resources, some of humanity could move to mars or wherever. This is a big step in our evolution in technology and space travel as a species, so hopefully one day a picnic on mars will be possible.

Wasn't exactly sure what Orion was...
-
if we go out to da oder planets da darkness mite c us and den da traveller will cum and i'll get 2 b a gardyan. if orion does some cash shit m8...wat clas u gun pleh irl?
my body is rdy 4 mi crucifiction ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Not for humankind. For NASA, me & you had nothing to do with this greatness.
-
Next on the agenda, creating ships that can go to ludicrous speed!

Link won't work... Please summarize for a mobile pleb. D:

This is stupid i dont wanna find the travaker on mars
-
I have been following the launch and splash down all morning, I am super excited!
-
Nice! I wouldn't expect that from a organization with a budget cut from Obama.
-
I'm pretty stoked about it. I loved the shuttle program...was very sad to see it go...but privatization brings fresh minds and new ideas into the mix, so it will be good. Can you imagine how terrible the Internet would be if the government kept control of it? Yuck.

Even in space, Americans use Imperial.
