8 RepliesA better upgrade system. Added to each current exotic item, legendary weapon, and raid item will be a new upgrade node. We'll call this the expansion node. The expansion node will be placed in a new column at the end of the current perks tree (right of all current perks). Maxing out this node will upgrade current (pre-dlc) items to the max tier available in the next dlc. The experience required to max out the expansion node of any item will be equal to 50% of the total experience required to max out all nodes the item had prior to the dlc. The materials required to max out the expansion node differ depending on the item. Exotic items: To max out the expansion node of exotic items will require an exotic shard and double the destination materials of the second damage/defense upgrade node. Legendary weapons: To max out the expansion node of a legendary weapon will require 12 ascent energy and double the destination materials of the second damage upgrade node. Raid/Iron Banner Armor: To max out the expansion node current (pre-dlc) 30 light armor will require 10 ascendant shards and radiant shards along with double the destination materials of the second defense upgrade node. Do you see how simple and straight forward this system is compared to what's currently going to happen? It took me 20 mins to come up with this. And it maintains: the relevance of current items for top tier pve the relevance of the Vault of Glass gives players a reason to keep older gear without removing the reason to use newer gear give players more items options (less clones in the tower) adds content to the game, not replace content
