I for one am happy about it. Most mmos would force players to abandon the gear they already have to find all new gear and still be left to start over on that gear. S t least this lets us keep the guns we enjoy if we choose to and all we have to do is level it again

It's as if we purposefully ignore the fact that they could use a better method of keeping our exotics and even legendaries, relevant. Which is the main reason why people are not happy with this phuckery.
-
Or we could have had to replace them using the RNG system which would have meant another god knows how many hours of grinding just to find the upgraded version.

Edited by RyanRenfrow: 12/5/2014 12:01:18 AMAre you saying that's the only other option they have verse the soon to be phuckery, they are goin to implement next week? I hope not because they have more options than the one you just presented.

No it is not the only other way but let's face it. It would have been a lot easier for them to do nothing and they probably wouldn't have had a tenth of the complaints. But of course all the complaints would then be all my exotics are worthless now because all the new stuff is more powerful you need to make it so we can upgrade them. or something to that effect. You all are upset because you can voluntarily rest/upgrade your exotics. Well no one is forcing you to do so and it will only really be needed for the raid. Every ware else it is just an extra advantage.

I understand this but at the same time ive seen way worse methods. One game even reset your whole character for major updates. The real problem here that bungie is having is half of the fanbase is shooter type players and not familiar with having to grind for everything. Not to mention programing a game and then changing the programming already in place is not easy. I enjoy the game and i enjoy running the strikes. So i will enjoy blowing enemies to bits witg my gjallarhorn again to level it up. L eveling gear is kinda easy anyways.

Except that if they are shooter players, they should be used to repetitive grinding and unlocking the same things from reaching that 10th prestige in CoD!
-
At the same time you are right that people should be more used to grinding
-
But the weapons themselves along with the stats all stay about the same. Cod has even been adding more and more options to keep your favorite stuff when you prestige
