How hard is VoG on hard mode?
I am lvl 29 hunter. I just did the normal raid last week for the first time, then again today. I was a little underwhelmed... It wasn't very hard at all. So how difficult is the hard version?

As a 29 you need all your armor and main primary maxed out to be able to play comfortably.

2 RepliesJust did normal raid for the first time last night. (I was the only one in the group excited about shards, energy and chatterwhite ... I actually upgraded to 29 from 28 in the middle of the raid) We hit orbit and someone says: "Hey, lets try hard" Okay ... in we go. Opening went easy peasy getting into the Vault. Oracles went smooth. Confluxes were ... challenging. We hid from the Legions rather than fight them but it was fun. Templar ... had us stymied (mostly for bugs). The relic holder kept getting trapped when they brought the Templar's shield down, trying to break out, and getting killed instead of breaking the bubble. Slower going (definitely needed skilled people to lead). It seems like a group of 29s/30s should be able to do it just fine. It just takes time and patience (no pun intended).

Confluxes come down to a matter of defending, while Oracles you need to focus on shooting while dealing with pesky enemies including hobs. Between conflux defending though, a group can hide in the Spirit Bloom chest room. Templar is a pain due to lesser enemies, hitting oracles, and damaging the Templar when the time comes. Gatekeeper main headache is the Torians that spawn and hobgoblins when on a particular plate. Then of course defending the conflux while dealing with praetorians and minotaurs. Some things can be countered or have a "fix" to them, ie raid weapons and gear along with a few exotics.

IMO its hard as hell, but's easily beaten with a good team. For example from my experiences, I beat the raid on normal with a team in about 40 mins on normal. Everyone knew what to do, and executed with great efficiency. Then we try the hard raid, 29s and up FYI, and we struggled mightily. The greater number of harder enemies made our normal raid strats obsolete. The fights can be totally different because of enemy strength and team equipment in game. Now I will not speak for everyone, some people seem to think Destiny is the easiest game they've ever played. But when I actually beat the raid on hard all the way thru I was actually happy. If your fireteam is actually good as a team, the hard raid could be very simple and not time consuming. Otherwise its a struggle of mixed play styles and personalities lol.

With a good team that works together well and has good strategies it's not to bad.

If you know what you're doing and have the right gear, it's not too bad. It's still challenging, mainly due to the lack of respawns, but it's not that much harder than the normal raid.

Depends on your team and how skilled everyone is. If everyone has good weapons it's not the most challenging thing but some aspects are difficult especially with the bugs that are in it.

Depends on your weapons and skill it's not that hard it also depends on your strategys communication and fireteam.
