Even if you consider Destiny a MMO, it isnt like any other MMO. It is a first person shooter that could be closely related to games like skyrim. First it is a console based game as well as a real time shoot. It also lacks the variety in activities, levels, and grinding. It lacks content at this time that would justify hours of grinding. If we had more content and variety in how we could grind that it would be ok but we don't. The caps on activities, resources, and events also make it less like a MMO. The drops are also less common then i have seen in many MMO's and if you could not get what you want at least you could trade. We are given all the limitations of a MMO but none of the freedoms. It would also have been smart to inform your community of futures updates or future plans. Let the player understand how things will work now and in the future. This way the community can both understand what kind of game they are playing as well as how to prepare for the future. Bungie released first an update that reduced the need to grind to max out weapons and armor and created the need for shards and then two days later released information that would have been useful to those maxing out this gear. The information basically would have told you to not worry about purchasing or upgrading existing content, save you items until after the DLC. However Bungie released the update and then the information, when the smart move would have been the other way around. The lack of information both on existent game content and future content is ridiculous. When we do get information it is too little too late.
