Bungie. I love you. I always have. I am a budding game developer myself and I look up to you guys, among others.
But this is ridiculous. You're telling me that the hundreds of resources and hours upon hours of time spent farming resources, experience, and glimmer, won't even be recognized with this new expansion?
I am a huge fan of destiny, I have over 10 days of playtime, and have enjoyed every last bit of it, but this is the first thing where I will join the community in saying this is utter bullshit.
Could you atleast explain why? As a designer I've been piecing together the pros and cons and speaking with the community to figure out what people like and dislike about this.
All I can think of as a pro is the fact that everyone will be put on the same level and seeing a fully upgraded Thorn, for instance, will make me think "Wow! He put in all that extra work to get it maxed, impressive." Also it will make it so people can't immediatly hop into the raid expecting to wreck it with maxed exotics and exotic gear.
I fail to see ANY OTHER benefit! Please advise?
I have SO MANY exotics and I've leveled the majority of them to max. I've spent so much time and currency and mats to get there, and now I have to do it again with no reward or boost or anything? As a developer and a big fan, this is utterly confusing.
I have plenty of ideas and am willing to meet half way, but I won't take the time to write them seeing as I am at work currently, and I doubt it will matter to give those ideas at the present. Must attend to the predicament at hand, first.

But upgrading those exotic again should be fun. You'll have to work at it and it won't be easy. A challenge is a welcomed part of game keeps it from being the monotonous bounties and crucible it has been the last few weeks since I've gotten everything I care to use maxed out

A "I have a life argument" is a moot point EVERYONE has a life your not special. And like all RPG/MMO's there is no point you win. It's a constant grind. They could've made all your exotics useless and null. But they gave you choice to continue using them. Like WoW every new raid came new weapons and armor that completely out preformed your old one, every couple of weeks a new set of PvP gear came out again considerably better than the old stuff. It's part of the games design. If you can't get your head around this stop playing.

And the disdain for that system sent WoW into a downward spiral. WoW is trying to bring interest back anyway they can now.. Same complaints on the WoW forums that you're seeing here. Leave that system in WoW where the major resets only come in long periods, not every 3 months.

Wow's system is bench mark for all other MMO's now... They had a downfall due to the original market growing up. Other games and the fact that people get bored with the same game after 9-10 years of playing it. How long did wow have about 11 million subscribers I think about 3 years. So any attack at wow is meaningless.

Had is the key word. They've lost nearly 50% of that now. People are sick of it, they still are going on about it on their forums. WoW is pulling a full revamp with instant level 90 to try and recoup because the market is dying. WoW subs will also be scewed by farming accounts, multi account holders and people who hold accounts due to inability to let go of their nostalgia.
