I think I may not have explained this well enough. I understand you are paraphrasing, but you're also grossly misinterpreting the message. This was my reply to another poster.
...I believe there should be a sort of layering. Place the house of wolves content in the mix. By then there's another level cap increase (34), and Crotas gear would follow the same reset pattern and the VoG gear would drop off. This way the VoG remains relevant for a little longer and isn't just garbage loot. Why bother with the VoG weapons when new vendor weapons will be equal level? The raid weapons should be more appealing because they are harder to get and have more "potential". It's stepping stones. That's all. Making the first raids' gear completely worthless seems a bit much for a level cap increase of 2. It would go like this: A: So, we running the VoG today? B: Yep! I need some more ascendant material to level my new Vanguard Autorifle. A: Ok cool. *raid over - Fatebringer drops for B* B: Oh sweet I got a Fatebringer *shards it on the spot* A: Dude why'd you break that down? B: I needed the materials. Fatebringer only maxes at 300 attack power. My vendor weapon maxes higher than that and it's almost fully upgraded. That's my point.
