Another way to think about it though is that your level is directly related to your armor and therefore resetting armor lowers your level. Maybe I'm just naive here, but is it common in other mmo's for an expansion to require you to drop two levels (losing 12 light points) before re-progessing up to the new cap? It's literally taking two steps backwards to ultimately move two steps forward. That just seems so, I don't know... artificial? Kills my desire to keep playing, especially because the precedent it sets for further expansions.
