Do not cash completed bounties until DLC day!
With the arrival of the DLC, it has been announced that Vanguard, Crucible gear will be totally revamped. I assume that there will also be new faction gear as well. And to purchase this new gear, players will need Vanguard or Crucible commendations to purchase such gear and that requires one to level up. So my theory is, once you fully level up when the DLC is out, then you should have immediate access to the new gear.
Fight the temptation to cash in those bounties until next Tuesday if it will push you over the level cap. Might as well save the XP for then and also to upgrade any reforged Exotics Xur will sell next Tuesday as per the Bungie blog. Let me know what you guys think?
Edit: I agree with some of the suggestions that state we should keep cashing in bounties until you are almost at the next level. Thanks again.

3 RepliesI don't like the commendation idea. Marks are a grind enough. Now I have to grind to get commendations by increasing rep level? Not happy with that.

Keep the 100 rep ones, and get close to next level as suggested. Will mean less playtime until the 9th, but a short break might do some good.

I'm planning on doing something similar. I'm going to get all 3 toons to 2450 rep and then do all my bounties this weekend I will turn in my 50 rep bounties to one of the factions and I'm going to save my 100 rep bounties. By Tuesday I should have 10 100 rep bounties completed just waiting. Then once we get the DLC I'm going to knock out all the Nightfalls and Weekly Heroics that will net right around 1000 rep and turn in those 10 bounties. After doing that I'll already have 1 level up and have right around 2000 rep toward the next lvl up. Then just do Tuesday's bounties and grind some patrols to get my 2nd lvl up for the day. Hopefully that will get me 2 commendations.

Yes very true. Except I'm gonna cash in til I get a vendor close to rank up, switch vendors then cash in til close to rank up, and so on. Although I wonder if you will need more than one commendation to buy new gear (in other words, have to level up more than once).

still turn them in but rotate between wearing different class items (the 3 factions and non for vanguard) to get all of them just on the cusp of an level up.

I just got the bounty for 'some good advice' should i just not even start it til the expansion? and if i do the quest after the expansion will i be getting the new/reset version of the exotic? also with these Vanguard/Crucible commendations does that mean Vanguard Marks are useless to buy legendary gear? should i stop even upgrading the legendary vanguard gear i have now since its being replaced? this whole thing is making my head spin.
