You're misconstrewing the reason people are upset. It's not a case of handholding for the old playersit's the opposite. The game is less than 3 months old and they're already catering to groups not even playing the game yet. All this has done is made it approachable to people who haven't played it yet. I'd be fine with that entirely myself, except now I'm being penalized for having played since September. I've wasted many materials, scrapped weapons that had no use, and blew many items and boosters to prepare my gear for future content only to be told now that I've gotta do it again. Lemme ask you this, if Bungie had told us that we'd have to redo all our exotics back when we started 3 months later would you have spent as much time doing so? It's almost an underhanded tactic at this point, if you think about it.
I'm a long time fan of bungie, even if this is the stripped down version of it, so I'm here for the long haul. But this is the kind of thing that needs to be adressed and made known because it really is unfair to the majority.

That's like saying every game is an rpg because you are playing a role in a video game. This is a game with a serious case of lack of identity, and the more we tryvto give it one, the more Bungie fights back by changing it further. And take a look at the forum yourself, the overwhelming amount of dislike for their patches is pretty blatant. I said it before, I have nothing against bringing new players in with ease of progression. It's the lack of concern for the rest of the playerbase that's distressing. We didn't play since the start of the game to be told it was without any merit. Also, say what you will about tiered progression, I've played FFXIV for a year and know all about it, and at least in XIV I wasn't told I had to redo all my old equipment again to make it viable for use later. They just made it easier to get to the current tier of old gear to upgrade it further. Long story short since you can't be bothered to read things, new players should be given some ease into catching up, veterans shouldn't be hit by a roadblock to allow it though.
