I miss you Dark Below.....

What a terrible, terrible way of handling extending the life of exotics. You're rendering countless hours of game time useless by resetting exotics at Xur. Is anyone on the dev team actually using their five senses when they go about this stuff? Do we need to send paramedics down there to check for strokes?

Edited by Exen: 12/4/2014 6:24:44 PMAt first I was somewhat upset that we'd need to relevel our exotics. Then I read the histrionic bellyaching and wailing which forced me to reexamine what I was upset about. Turns out it was just a gut reaction and that things will be fine. Our reforged exotics will START at a higher attack. I have use for all my Strange Coins. There's work to do. I wish it cost less Glimmer so we can avoid the need to Glimmer farm. As it stands, all the crybabies got me to realize this isn't as bad as I originally thought. So thank you, crybabies. #stayclassy

I dont mind spending an exotic shard on the upgrade, but adding a layer of RNG to upgrade them along with resetting the progress is a bit of a low blow. If you guys could make Xurs upgrade just add another upgrade node to get it to the next attack/defense level, then the system would be perfect. Thanks Deej for asking for feedback and having to deal with people on these forums (I'm coming from reddit).

You guys did a pretty shitty job. You just -blam!- your players over. You try and hide the fact that there's no content and no story by wiping everyone's progression and making them regrind their shit. What should've been done was you just added another tier to existing weapons for damage, so if it's we have it maxed already we just bring it from 300 to 331. If you were creative or put any thought into the game you would've also added a new perk for weapons at the end as well. No creativity when it comes to bounties (how many times a week is buried city on, like 4??) daily missions are usually the same 6 over and over again. Giving us PS4 users exclusive strikes just -blam!-s all players in the end, because you guys are too incompetent and lazy to make separate weekly's and night falls and bounties for PS and XBOX, so PS users don't even get to play the best strikes on harder levels. I could go on, but am done taking a crap.

Wish you didn't make our old weapons and gear irrelevant and useless.. Especially since we spent so much time and effort to earn them.

Edited by BHJ: 12/10/2014 11:59:39 PMHamster wheel. Why does every Eris mission have that "Inception" blaring horn sound? Why do I have to earn perks on exotics I've already earned perks for? Why didn't I get the extra boom boom arms for the titan when I completed my nightfall? I need those in my life, Gjallahorn craves hive blood, I must feed the pack.

Edited by Hrist Valkyrie: 12/5/2014 1:29:23 AMSo DeeJ, I have a question for you. Why should I invest more countless hours upgrading all my current exotics, only to have to do it again in a couple more months when House of Wolves launches? What *exactly* is my incentive here? Because if this is your plan to keep people like myself playing, it's garbage and it won't work.
-
I have a question, what in the blue hell was going on when you decided to finalize No Land Beyond?
-
What happened to the real Bungie developers? Seems like they have been replaced by a bunch of retards who have no clue what they are doing.
-
I'm fine with the Exotic Shard reset, but the Glimmer requirement is really stupid. Also that I have to wait for Xur to have my specific weapon to upgrade is stupid, I should be able to just choose what I want when I want it. Also the reset should make the weapons level up faster & if you really want to fix it just add more nodes.
-
It would be cool if you could upgrade existing Legendaries you already own. Also reduce the Glimmer cost to reupgrade, and give it to the Gunsmith instead of Xur.
-
The new vendor hand canons suck! TDYK and the awesome lord high fixer were both very good guns!! Hand canons are very popular, but you give the vendors two very sad pieces there. I hope you will change this soon! I thought the chance from FWC was a joke with 5 rounds! A good HC should never have less than 10 rounds!!!
-
You took our opinions. It was clear the grand majority didn't like it. Yet, you haven't done anything or mentioned anything about it since. So whats the point of making these?
-
Commendations need to go. Re-levelling weapons to new damage limits is pointless, as is putting a glass ceiling on old beloved Raid weapons. A lot of the DLC is very difficult for the 'average' player. Now that the moans are done... The new raid is very nice. There is a lot more story to the new missions, in fact more than the original game release. The new PvP maps are very nice, especially the black garden one. An update on the VoG exploration would be good now that TDB has been released. Have we seen all there is?
-
I hope everyone over there realizes the flaw in exotic upgrading. The premise is great, but the execution is terrible. A much better option would be to spend glimmer and a shard to upgrade it, but the new version wouldn't need to be leveled. All previous upgrades are there, just as before. Also, fix ruin wings. The perk "seeds of ruin" does not perform as stated.
-
The only thing I wish is that the new raid materials were more common. I don't want to grind for weeks to get it maxed out. Especially for people like me with only one character they play on.
-
Upgrading old Exotics takes too long.
-
Keep commendations but severely reduce mark costs and I may actually buy something from the vendors. Having tiers within legendary and exotic weapons makes having a rarity system worthless. Give some blues an upgrade path to legendary and tack on weapon upgrade paths to the current max so we can actually keep our weapons relevant. Put a material in Crota's end to upgrade VoG armor as well. TL; DR: Expansions should expand upon content not replace it.
-
Edited by harrymfa: 12/26/2014 8:30:27 PMAnother missed opportunity. All the new time sinks enhance the game's problems. There is a fine line between making grinding tolerable and frustrating, and you crossed it. The "commendations" time sink feels like a slap in the face. Not being able to upgrade the loot people spent so much time grinding for (save the exotics) is disrespectful, for lack of a better word. You solved the planetary mats time sink, only to bring the glimmer time sink. In many other things you took one step forward and two steps back. The drop system is still abysmal. Plain amateurish. Doesn't look like you are listening, or paying attention to feedback.

The Devil You Don't = 5 round magazine. I can't believe you did that to this weapon ... Please buff the ammo to what The Devil You Know was. You can't make "new" weapons and have the specs crappier than the original vanguard weapons. NOT COOL
-
Yeah if you could not make it so expensive for us to upgrade a 1.0 exotic that'd be great. Also if you do that whole thing again and make 3.0 exotics next DLC could you not make me grind for weeks to level it up? Instead just have more branches to level damage up
-
Umm, I've got a few listed questions for you 1) Will VoG drop 2.0 weapons? 2) Will we be able to upgrade our 1.0 Legendaries to 2.0? 3) Will we have to reset our Exotics again in the House of Wolves and get our 2.0 Legendaries obsolete like the 1.0? 4) Will you give the VoG gear its power again since people grinded for it? 5) Will the strikes like Nightfall, RoC, Heroic etc, go up higher if you add a level cap in the House of Wolves? 6) Will we get fooled again by a reset to upgrade system ever again to keep people playing? I was very lucky that I only had 2 Exotics to upgrade, and I like this game alot, but these updates are making it worse.
-
I don't mind partly removing weapon progression but I think the unique exotic perks should stay on regardless. For example resetting the damage on Monte Carlo but let it keep the Monte Carlo method perk. My PvP play style is dedicated to that and without it I would feel so much weaker. It's actually why I didn't upgrade it last week haha
-
New upgrade path works fine for me - forces you to think which exotics you really value. Upgrading Ice Breaker was a no brainer. Yeah you lose the perks for a bit but they come back after a while. Would be nice to be able to do something similar with favourite legendaries. Am now sitting on a load of ascendant energy reluctant to upgrade my existing legendaries with it.
