Title says it all. So far I've noticed each time I get revived or self rez, I have gotten coins, mats, etc. However when I do not die, it seems RNGesus blesses me with better loot. Has anyone also experienced this, or experienced the opposite?
Edit: Thanks for everyone's input! It seems like there is no correlation between deaths and loot drops.

2 RepliesPlayed yesterday solo. Made it to the nexus without dying and finished without dying. I had 121 kills. 2 friends joined at the boss fight. They finished with 2 and 4 kills. I got 5 coins and naturally they got Icebreaker and Gjallarhorn.

5 RepliesNOPE JUST GOT 9 STRANGE COINS FROM A SOLO NIGHTFALL, OBVIOUSLY NEVER DIED. THE CAPS ARE TO SHOW MY ANGER CURRENTLY
-
2 RepliesWhat are mats?
-
Once died all them time got hawkmoon
-
3 RepliesNope I solo'd NF as a lv 29 hunter and got 9 coins. I was hoping for something more exciting for my efforts.
-
I died once running it yesterday and got Thunderlord.
-
They said if the entire team wipes then it effects it but I don't think individually it matters.
-
My mate died a few times an got the Ghorn so no haha
-
Not that I have seen. Until recently, I never died during Nightfall or strikes, but I have yet to receive anything good.
-
There is no link with performance and drops on any part of destiny :)
-
You would have to have data for 500 or more nightfalls to actually have an idea of any kind of patterns. Any variable will adjust this number conaiderably. Run 500 with no deaths. Run 500 with deaths. Run 500 in less than 15 minutes. Run 500 I. Over 15 minutes. Etc.

Random game is random. Soloed it twice without dying today, got a legendary engram wich turned into 3 shards, and a shitty legendary pulse rifle.
-
Ran it with a friend. I didn't die and he died twice. He got Truth, I got 7 strange coins.
-
Nope.
-
False
-
Don't think it's correlated. My friend died more times than I can count and got an exotic, meanwhile I didn't die and got a legendary engram (turned into two shards).

RNG IS RNG MY FRIEND. Got coins for the 3rd straight week from nightfall . Would be great if bungie could tweak the reward system. Coins should be off the nightfall loot table
-
1 ReplyI don't think it matters one way or the other. You complete it you get a CHANCE at some awesome gear. I think we can reasonably compare this to crucible matches...

Edited by Doc SoCal: 12/3/2014 5:24:11 PMWithout firm data from Bungie, it is anyone guess. You would need a MUCH larger sample size for this to be any kind of analyzable data. IMO - Anything Bungie could tell us that would allow us a little more control over our Destiny would be a very very.... VERY.... good thing.
-
Maybe acually. They said at one point the more you die in a strike the less drops you get. That migth have effected nigthfalls and weeklys too.
-
6 RepliesNope. I died 2-3 times yesterday and still received Universal Remote. The other two on my team did not die at all and did not get exotics. RNG is RNG. You get a roll for completing an activity. Skill and the difficulty of the content have nothing to do with what you get. The only factor is what is in the activities loot pool(Can't get raid gear in a non raid RNG roll, ect).
-
It's a placebo effect. One has nothing to do with the other. I died a few times yesterday and was rewarded two exotics and a legendary. I've soloed them in the past and not died once and received coins or mats.
-
I literally got the same sniper in two runs yesterday, once solo, once with one death in a group. Received coins from my third run that I did with one other person, and again no deaths. I believe that it is random independent of deaths.
-
I was going to say this is stupid... but then I thought about it some more :o
-
I feel like this is true because for once I did not die in the nightfall this week and got the icebreakers and before when I died I got coins, legendarys, and mats.
