To all fellow guardians,
Please watch out for PSN: kermitTHEfrog
I have a friend on ps4 who has a couple of higher level characters and has been playing since the game came out. He was nice enough to show me a lot of what I now, know how to do in the game as a result. His gf also plays destiny. She has slaved for months since day zero doing the daily grind, day in and day out farmed all the materials to get her warlock to level 30. I haven't even gotten to 30 and I've been playing for months. She also did it the real way not by buying the materials using marks but by farming them spending HOURS...
She was at the tower a few days ago when a fellow level 30 (kermitTHEfrog) sent her a message complimenting her raid gear and mentioned how he had never used the Gjallahorn before. He asked if she wanted to raid with him and his group. After joining the party, he was very sincere and nice complimenting her warlock. She had a lot of my buddy's exotics on her character as well. He asked her is she would be nice enough to SHAREPLAY... She said of course thinking everything would be fine and they would raid together after...
Boy was she wrong....
The most horrifying thing that could ever happen to any fellow guardian was about to happen....
This mother -blam!-er kermitTHEfrog DELETED my friends gf's LEVEL 30 warlock in front of her eyes and she could do nothing about it.
In the time it took for him to log in to shareplay, and go straight to deleting the character she couldn't react fast enough.
I am writing this because last night I had a nightmare after hearing this story that my guardian was erased from existence. Laugh if you want but imagine spending all that time on something and it being ripped away from you without warning because you did something out of the goodness in your heart.
-blam!- you, mother -blam!-ing kermitTHEfrog
It's mother -blam!-ers like you who make people not want to SHAREPLAY w strangers
Bungie please help out my friend's gf get her stuff back and ban kermitTHEfrog
My gamer tag is PSN: Xx4LeafMafia20xX for his privacy please contact me if you need details on this tragedy. My friend has share play history and can show you, that the story I am telling you is true...
Thanks for reading...

Don't let anyone share play :/ I'm an Xbox guy so I don't have to worry about this.
-
and here is the video of it happening.
-
Oh my god. This is just plain wrong.
-
Bungie needs to issue a psn patch. If shareplay is enabled, destiny should not launch, period.
-
Stupid slut, her own fault

Edited by SkullBoyCarlos: 2/20/2015 8:24:51 PMLol @ the people blaming bungie for what some random stranger did. It's like blaming law enforcement if a robbery happens. Back in the good ol' days people had to use key loggers, viruses and other hacks to steal personal info. Now all you gotta do is ask someone for it? I swear humanity is deteriorating.

Edited by Moebius0: 2/20/2015 9:04:10 PMI find it shocking that Bungie will not replace the lost characters/items. There has to be some log SOMEWHERE, that keeps track of what your character had, especially with all the web interface and what not. The last MMO I played, would ban players who scammed others, and would replace the items. It's a pretty common practice in MMO's, since most companies are actually employed by good hearted human beings, unlike Bungie is proving to be. Sure, the finger can always be pointed at the victim, for making the mistake that allowed them to be scammed. There's a term for that - It's called being heartless. Shame on you Bungie! Also, whether the characters are returned, or not, Bungie needs to delete Kirmit's characters and items right in front of him, while he is playing. And I know the ToS is probably pretty tight, but maybe there is hope of taking legal action? I personally am almost just as upset at Bungie over all this, than I am at that scumbag Kirmit! If it honestly is impossible to restore the characters/items, then they should at least give SOMETHING to make up for the loss.

LOOOOOOOOL THIS IS AWESOME poor kid had it comming
-
Kermit is On ps4
-
Sounds like a lizard squad guy
-
Add him so u can cuss him out and make him want to die
-
I don't think Bungie cares about comments made against users who delete other players characters on shareplay or those who impersonate those that do.

Edited by tremainelol: 2/20/2015 10:42:27 PM"she could do nothing about it". Couldn't she pull the plug on her ps4? Mid delete I mean. Act fast naive people. Act fast.

I agree it was a bad choice to play share, but I think that bungie should help out Instead of doing nothing about it, sorry for your loss bro
-
Very sorry to what happen to your friend unfortunately you can't restore characters/items after they got deleted or missing
-
I will find you kermit and i will beat you until you cant walk anymore.
-
The problem is this: When you bought the game you said yes I accept the policies, including the one about restoring your deleted characters. second: the kid accepted to share play his PS4 to complete strangers, knowing or not the policy and the danger of this happening, and even totally full aware that it was to cheat. Don't get me wrong, Kermitthefrog deserves ban for this. But still its not bungie's problem about the material loss, as stated by the policy which everyone playing the game ACCEPTED. Third: No He didn't deserve it. He learned a huge lesson, but no. No one deserves it. Fourth: What is a kid playing a T for Teens game? Thats an error of the parents, for ignoring the ESRB like the same for the kids who get trolled everyday on minecraft or on GTA V.

I remember seeing a post about this the other day. Your spin on it isn't exactly as accurate as hers. She posted a YouTube video of it (complete with irrelevant content of her in crucible and useless footage of her crying in the end) and linked it on her rant. First of all, she let him share play because he told her he knew a glitch to lvl a character quickly to lvl 20. Not because he was wondering if "...she was nice enough to let her share play..." You, her, and the rest of the community that saw the video know that she isn't the faultless victim like you're portraying. Second, she had plenty of time to react. I'm not sure if you noticed but when deleting or dismantling (especially an exotic) it does take a certain amount of time to complete; time during which she could have and should have cut the connection (like she did later on when the damage was done). Third, I'm not sure what your motive is of posting on her behalf and playing the noble knight here, but all you really come across is a sycophant (and possible would-be-home wrecker). She is an adult and knows full well the consequences of granting total access to a stranger in the internet. We all know evil people exist, but the question I'm asking isn't why the troll bastard did it, it's more like how the hell did the school system (life's lessons to adulthood included) fail her so.

Everybody ban him from your friends list, as a community standing together this will be a start.
-
welp i was with this girl one time, and she told me she had harpies but wasn't in an outbreak so you know we were good to -blam!- right? falso now i got a VD all cuz this biotch trict me into sax. bungie plz ban her from all future fornicating plz. thanks
It's mother -blam!-ers like you who make people not want to SHAREPLAY with strangers
Why would you do share play with strangers anyway?
-
It is important to note that they won't replace gear or levels because they are incapable. They can't even fix heavy ammo lose glitches, swords falling through the floor, wasted synths with full inventory, etc. So when they try to make it seem like policy it is really because they aren't good enough to manipulate their own system.

So many people claim Kermit is an adult that deceived a child. Maybe I missed it or everyone really is just assuming this but where does it say Kermit is an adult? I don't have PSN so I can't look his profile up there but I don't remember seeing Kermit's age anywhere. So unless someone knows this guys personal info already it's safe to assume this CHILD DECEIVING ADULT could actually just be another 11 year old child that got bored with playing destiny and decided to screw with people right? Bungie is cleverly using this video to mask the fact that another weekly update came out and no fixes to anything we've been screaming about for months are here. Of course they don't seem to have to much problem with what Kermit did. They advertised what he did (which he's most likely sitting back and laughing about) but never acted on their right to deny access of destiny to Kermit's profile. He's still playing. Still trying to trick people. Due to the publicity there's probably more people like Kermit now doing the same thing. Bored as shit sitting in the tower trying to find raid partners. Boredom is one of the most destructive things in mankind.
