I've had a "strict nat type 2" since Destiny's launch. Let's be clear this is the only game that says my network is "strict" but we'll let that go for now. I have followed a majority of tutorials to fix it, but now, since the recent update, Destiny, and only DESTINY is saying I have a Nat Type 3. This has never resulted in me having issues with match making, or connecting with anyone, but it's that dumb little box that says "we have connectivity issues, but it's probably your fault that is ridiculous." Stop with it.

No it is clearly destiny 2 fault your and mine internet is fine just bullshit blaming us

1 ReplyIve had the same problem. Console says open NAT, Destiny says strict. I followed the instructions at the Bungee provided link and did all the port forwarding recommended. Xbox still says open NAT, Destiny still gives me the strict NAT warning. Since I followed the instructions though I get less Crucible lag.

I started with strict, followed destiny's own guide for port-forwarding to change to open NAT type, and gave myself an open NAT type. My console says it's open and so does every other game, however when loading destiny or entering team voice channel I'm always presented with a strict NAT type notice, and it's not just a bug that says I have a strict NAT type, because it does affect my connectivity to others, my raid party has 2 guys who I commonly cannot hear in game chat (hopefully today's patch fixed the party lag on Xbox one so I can't get that done) but I also experience disconnects when connecting to certain players sometimes.

Pretty much this. You know what the funny thing is? I didn't get a "Strict NAT" until I tested one of their "spend mo money" suggestions and set my two in one modem in bridge mode and did all the other little things.
