Some polite feedback about today's patch.
I’ve been sitting on and stockpiling Ascendant Energy to decide which legendary and exotics weapons I wanted to upgrade.
I was waiting to collect all Exotic weapons (missing 5). Along the way I meet the other requirements to level Exotic weapon (XP, materials) but don't actually upgrade it when I get to the Energy requirements.
Introducing a new currency requirement against Exotic weapons, without a way to transfer the old currency into the new currency (even if time-limited) is some shenanigans.
I'm sure I'm in the minority of end-game Exotic collectible players who has a problem with today's patch and decision making.
I even understand the design decisions around introducing a new currency for Exotics and requiring that currency. What I don't understand is why you wouldn't allow currency swaps (even if for a limited time) so "forward planners" have a chance to do just that.
Acquiring Strange Coin to purchase Exotic Shards isn't a big deal. I have a decent stock-pile of those as well.Like anything, I'll be just fine and will adapt.
Nonetheless, the decision to change requirements for Exotic upgrades, without an upgrade or translation path from the previous game system (even one where you take it on the chin, like a 2:1 or 4:1 ratio) seems a bit harsh or short-sited.
Update: It's only 1 Exotic Shard to do the "final" upgraded (compared to the final row, when it was Energy) so it's not as punishing as I assumed.

10 RepliesSo my 280 asendants are trash now. Damnit I should be able to cash or trade them in for something useful
