Who has actually has beaten the Templar without cheesing
I'm actually curious if there are very many of us that actually know how to do it and have done it.
Didn't think i was gonna get all these replies. So yes they have patched us cheesing the templar and yes I've never completed the templar legit(not pushing off) because of my group always wanting to cheese.
So I'm kind of excited to finally strategize in my own personal experience a new part of the game for me. I am a Hunter and held the relic for the cheesing you have no idea how bad i wanted to blast him with my super out of nowhere!! Haha
Edit - Just did it properly and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Pretty hectic

Took him out normally the first time I tried VoG. It's actually not hard to do so I'm excited to actually play the game now and not skip the fight

For the longest time I had no idea this was possible. I think I've only cheesed the Templar and Atheon on one go through. Also my friends don't care for cheesing it unless we just want to get through it.

On the normal raids I've done, I've never cheesed it until my last raid where I got into a group that did it. I wasn't really for it but I wasn't gonna complain either. xD

I've beat him legit a few time the normal way. A few times by hiding on the sniper platforms, and a few times by pushing him off. The one I'm proud of is killing him without letting him teleport the legit way. Was a pain in the ass for us when we were all still 28-29.

I done it in the old days and then done it post patch today on normal... our team was 2 24's and a 25 balanced with 2 30's and a 29 it was a lot of work and I got fed up on the gorgons and left but the Templar went down to basically a 30 with gjalllerhorn and me using ice breaker and corrective measure :/

Not for a long time, wanted to do it legit since forever but no one wanted to. Everyone just wanted me to push him. FINALLY I can do it legit and the team has no choice in the mater. Whooooo

1 ReplyBeaten him normally on normal loads of times and hard a few times. Not too much of an issue but as everyone wants to push him i didnt have any choice in the matter. All these changes though and they still havent fixed the sound issues, minotaur healing, oracles not spawning inside portals. All these changes do is push people away from random groups

I've killed him about 2-3 times until everyone started pushing him. Any group I went into wanted to push him, so it never really was my choice.

Haha[/quote] Did it my first raid, ever since then everyone wanted to push him. 1 against 5 does little good when you want to play a certain way. It was all good though but will be nice to play it the normal way

I have. The thing is both ways take the same amount of time. Killing it the legit way just takes more coordination.

I've beaten him 4 times normally, the rest *shudders* have been through the cheese method. Basically as soon as someone discovered the cheese method the normal method became extinct, and you were laughed at for suggesting the normal method :/

I've done it. There was a time when people didn't know about pushing it off or getting the extra chest lol.

The strategy to beating him without teleporting is actually very easy. Provided you have at least 1 defender.

Yeah most people have done it. Chess ing Templar was the go to because it was terribly easy and fast. Also it guaranteed the next chest because of no teleports. No teleports is very easy without cheese, but most people are dumb and won't be able to do it now.

Legit strats i tried with random groups: 1. Everyone spreads out to clear the oracles. Relic holder blasts templar then people unload on the templar. Quick and easy. 2. Everyone goes to the far right side for an easy group cleanse. Relic holder blasts templar then people unload on the templar. Quick and easy. To summarize, if you have any kind of strat, it will most probably work no matter what it is.

Couple times on normal and once on hard. Everyone wants to just cheese him.. I didnt mind it either.
