Who has actually has beaten the Templar without cheesing
I'm actually curious if there are very many of us that actually know how to do it and have done it.
Didn't think i was gonna get all these replies. So yes they have patched us cheesing the templar and yes I've never completed the templar legit(not pushing off) because of my group always wanting to cheese.
So I'm kind of excited to finally strategize in my own personal experience a new part of the game for me. I am a Hunter and held the relic for the cheesing you have no idea how bad i wanted to blast him with my super out of nowhere!! Haha
Edit - Just did it properly and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Pretty hectic

I would imagine everyone has beaten it legit. Maybe not the folks that starting playing after the push-off was found. Beating the Templar legit really isn't difficult at all.

I have on a few occasions but it's still too easy to have the relic holder sit in the spot that shoots the left hidden oracle and have the others snipe him out.

2 RepliesI've done it legit, I've done the old school Hobgoblin ledge cheese, and I've pushed him off. I prefer killing him straight up. However, they incentivized the push by having the "no teleport" chest. I figure we can see how hard it is to stand in the rings, now.

I've done it maybe twice. It's just so much easier to cheese. Anywhere else I'm a "go straight up" kinda guy. Like I just watched a video of someone cheesing phogoth and and thought why.

Hes pretty easy to beat without cheesing but maybe thats just me Ive done it on both hard and normal

It was great to beat him legit after cheesing for a while. It felt like how it used to feel when clearing a stage in vog when we first started raiding. Had to clear some cobwebs, but finally got it down. My tips: lvl 30's, skilled relic holder (w/ good aim), good plan and good communication. Trial and error- learn from mistakes. Insanity is repeating the same thing over and over expecting different results. There is more than 1 way to clear Templar.

Our crew has and never cheesed Atheon either. We did start doing it for the chest, but it's easy enough to go back to how it should be so no skin off my back.

A group that I run with usually beat him the "real" way at least once per week because we knew this day would come. I feel like thre are many people out there who like to play the game many ways, I personally think it's more fun that way.

Edited by Ultima MG: 12/2/2014 2:58:15 AMI teach the raid to 4 first timers about 6x a week, and in every past run I've told them, "the cheesing will likely be patched," and went on to teach them how to do a legit no-teleport run. When I saw this today, I nearly lol'd myself right out of my chair :) I'm so glad our clan does nothing but legit runs and quite relieved I didn't take the easy way out while teaching newcomers.

2 Repliesthe first time my team and I beat the raid we did the whole thing legit, because we hadn't heard about the exploits yet. of course I'll admit we took advantages of every exploit when we could, but now we'll just go back to the original way for one more week and prepare for crota's exploits haha

I beat templar normally since I never knew that grenades could cheese templar back in the day. I could care less about cheesing now. Im only missing out on 2 ascendant materials.

You have to jump in the spot for where he is about to teleport to stop him from teleporting.
