7 tons
-
yeah, spartans are like 7'2" elites shouldnt be much taller
-
you know one thing that always bothered me was that they made the arbiter taller that the chief in the beginning of the halo 3 campaign when if i remember right after reading the books awhile back the spartans are like super tall too so he shouldent be alot shorter than an elite.

1/2 A ton with armor.
-
Posted by: thehappydude Now that we can assume his weight is around 1000 pounds... explain to me this, how does the ghost float with him in it?
Yes, I am also curious. And how does a Mongoose hold the weight of two Spartans?
-
In the novels when Blue Team (Chief's Team) is onboard the unyeilding heiorphant they encounter Brutes for the first time and yes Master Cheif is almost killed the brute is literally stronger than him and he was sat on and almost choked to death, so yes they do get there ribs broken etc, but they use there training to apply leverage and get the upperhand on Brutes [Edited on 04.19.2008 11:09 PM PDT]
Posted by: Mr SlapFish Or a 1000 pound tea-bagging! Now that's industrial!
LOL. I'm surprised the maps don't have divets in the floors!
-
Posted by: Haybatsu well dont you think that fist being pushed forward would have somewhat of large force behind it?
Yes, but you have to understand that Brutes are stronger than Spartans (I think anyway, correct me if I'm wrong though). [Edited on 04.19.2008 11:02 PM PDT]

1000 pounds. That would make a fully loaded Warthog weigh an extra 3000 pounds! Or a Mongoose with two Spartans weigh an extra ton!
-
well dont you think that fist being pushed forward would have somewhat of large force behind it? and of course not all 1000 pounds is behind it. unless its a Death From Above kind of thing. [Edited on 04.19.2008 11:00 PM PDT]

It's not 1000 pounds of fource, however. The only armor behind his punch would be the plates on his arms, shoulders, and the gauntlets. Of course I'm sure the Chief knows how to put his body weight into it, but even so, that doesn't mean it's all 1000 pounds. Anyway, most Brutes have Energy Shields in Halo 3. Considering that Spartans were generally "even-matched" against Elites, I'd say that in hand-to-hand combat, when it comes ot Brute Force, Brute is the key word :P.
-
Brutes are made of solid bone. Duh. Plus, since when is weight directly proportional to punching force?
-
yes, i did find it in the H3 manual, he ways nearly 1000 pounds. which is why i dont understand why you dont kill the brutes with one punch. wouldnt a punch with quite a very large amount of force behind it crush a brutes face?
Posted by: Lt Auriok His armour alone is like 3 tons... so i'd say about 3 tons and 174 ibs about?
174 pounds? The Chief is around 370 pounds. 7 feet tall and 174 pounds wouldn't make him much of a Spartan. The armor combined with his weight (at least, Mark V) was half a ton. I know they did some play on words to mix that up a bit later on, however.
Posted by: Lt Auriok His armour alone is like 3 tons... so i'd say about 3 tons and 174 ibs about?
So he weighs 6,175 pounds? no way 1 ton is 2,000 pounds
