some advice (or pro tips) for the hard raid please

...except of "don't die" ;) (which is the most important thing..i know) i have done the normal raid 4 times (started with 10 hrs and now down to 60+ minutes) , and now i'm into to give it a try on hard beside of playing perfectly as a team, are there any tips/tricks per stage/section from the pro raiders in here? anything (from perfect shooting spots to weapons) is helpful...thanks in advance

  • You need to have maxed out weapons. I run vision of confluence, praedyths revenge and truth usually. I might switch to patience and time for atheon if I run out of heavy. I don't own ice breaker or gjallerhorn unfortunately. You can do it as a 29 but you'll die a lot if your group isn't mostly 30s. 29s can die very quickly. You already have to play conservatively as a 30. Play smart. If you're a hunter wear knucklehead radar. It helps a lot since you'll spend the majority of the raid scoped in. Awareness is everything. Know where the enemies are at all times. If you miss a suplicant or fanatic it can mean a wipe for the entire team. Play errors are unacceptable. You must play without flaws. This should go without saying, but keep back from the mobs of enemies. Know where cover is and be able to get to it quickly. The opening section shouldnt need a guide. Just have void heavies equipped and call out minotaurs. Simple. During the confluxes I like the pillars in the back. I stand on them. Make sure you hide in the spirit bloom chest area when the templar summons it's legions. During oracles I hide in the back steps. Any of them will do since the snipers can't get you. Another oracle method is to wipe and have the team snipe from the top. During the templar have the relic holder hide under the middle section and the warlocks and titans will toss grenades at the templar until he goes off the edge. Gorgons maze isn't any different from the normal version. No worries here. The portals is probably the section that is most easy to screw up. There's no easy way to do it. In the beginning I take cover on the left side in between the pillars and poke out and take out the hobgoblins. Once the precursors are down, take out the gatekeeper. Don't push up at this part. You'll either get sniped or killed by a well placed grenade. Stay behind the steps. Once the portals come up, send 3 people into Mars. Two of the supporters should have truth or gjallerhorn. The other person will be the relic holder. Get in and out in under a minute or your entire team will likely die. The other 3 people can't hold the plate forever. If you're on the plate, stand on the pillars. Watch for goblins in front and behind you. Call out praetoreans. Have void weapons equipped and for God's sake do not stand on the floor. Never, ever stand on the floor. Always be elevated. Once the first portal is cleared, two people will go into the second. One relic holder and one rocket user. The rocket user will be solely responsible for killing the gatekeeper, so make sure this player is good. Gjallerhorn preferred but truth works just as well. The relic holders only job is to cleanse the person who is picking up the second relic. On the outside, two people will take the plate and two will take conflux. Someone on the outside is bound to mess this part up. Have the best people on the plate. The plate is harder than the conflux since there are less places to hide. Again, void weapons. That's the only way you'll survive this. The only other advice I can give is don't stand on the floor. Even the conflux team. They should be shooting the minotaurs from afar. Once the relic guys make it back out, it gets easy. Just don't die and kill everything in sight. This part of the raid requires incredible teamwork. If you have nooby team mates, you'll fail. Atheon should be relatively easy. This is the portal teams to fail. Being outside is pretty easy. You just stay elevated and shoot supplicants. Make sure the relic holder knows what they're doing. Most of the wipes will occur because the relic holder died and the other guys couldn't kill the oracles. Please make sure all the oracles are dead before exiting the portal. This is where AE and VOC are crucial. Once times vengeance is up, gather on the middle platform on the right side. The relic holder will continuously hold up the cleansing bubble. A titan will put up weapons of light in the back of the platform for bonus damage. And everyone will shoot atheon with either rockets or snipers. Not both. If you chose snipers you'll want to aim for his weak point. Rockets and Nades make him move. Once times vengeance is up make sure you exit the platform quickly or prepare to die a timely death (lol) by atheon. Repeat once or twice and congrats you've beaten the vault of glass on hard. Or have you. Is there a secret section? Is this why you don't get taken to orbit?

    • Until you can get the Level 26 Raid out of the way in half an hour, don't move to the Level 30 Raid. Unless you have Atheon's Epilogue or Vision of Confluence at 300 Damage, don't move to the Level 30 Raid. Unless you're 29+ that can complete the level 26 raid in half an hour with maxed out A's E, VoC, IceBreaker and Gjallarhorn, don't move to the Level 30 Raid.

      • Make sure you have maxed out weapons: Voc and suros are great for primary, solar or void burn fusion rifle is great for special weapon slot, and corrective measure or any maxed out void burn LMG is good for heavy weapon. If you get hit and close to dying, be a coward and go hide until you recover. Don't try to be a hero and think you can out shoot them all when you are close to being dead. You do no good to your teammate if you die in hard mode. Unless you are a warlock and have self-res, you can die once in awhile. If you are level 29, most hobgloblins will kill you with one hit so stay out of their sight.

      • Just play like you play nightfall. Take distance of the mobs and stay a little bit beyond the map. For instance, stay beyond the conflix.

        • Also soloing the right a left teleporters helps a lot. Kill the gate keepers at the same time. Vision of confluence or suros maxed. Also VOID ROCKETS!!!! I cannot stress this enough. Galahorn preferred but truth works too. Teleporting into the Venus side, non relic holders should shoot rockets at the Minotaur or throw grenades to help out.

        • I've completed the hard raid many many times. It takes a very organized team along with having maxed out 29s and 30s. Void weapons. Communication and discipline is key!!!!

        • How did your first hard raid go? I just did my first earlier this week. I didn't feel much difference between the 2. Just play smart. It didn't seem harder to me. I only died once between the start and arriving at the gatekeeper. Gatekeeper part I died a couple times but lucky I could self rez. Same with my team. No wipes on atheon.

Since you're on your 30, you can easily solo the right Conflux through that entire phase. My usual setup is a Fatebringer (or a Lord High Fixer/Devil You Know), fusion rifle of choice (prefer high impact), and a Gjallarhorn. If you're using the setup you have now, that is also quite viable. It might take 3 shots to the crit to down the gobs/hobs/Fanatics, but you make up for it with the bigger clip. When I generally do right side, I sit on the stairs leading up to the right conflux for the first round. Second round, I use the Conflux as cover and dance between sides to cover both the cave and the middle stairs. Last round I generally stay there as well. If you don't know about it, during Legions, move to the Spirit Bloom chest which is located up the left side in a hole in the wall. Look for the path that goes to the middle, then go up the next flight of stairs and it's up and to your right. Stay in there until you see "Templar begins the Ritual of Negation". Then it's safe to spread out and start the next round. Templar is easy since most groups choose to push him off. Not much advice there except if you're relic guy/gal, wait to cleanse the group until you get the Mark x2. Gatekeeper. This part has a lot of Hobgoblins in it, so stay behind cover as much as possible. Snipers/scout rifles are nice for this part. Atheon. Don't be in the air when Time's Vengeance is about to wear off or at the start of the fight as if you aren't teleported, you get Detained like on the Templar fight and if you're in midair you will likely fall outside the bubble, basically killing you instantly. Kill Supplicants if you're on the outside. Jump and Lift if they're about to blow up on you. If you time it right it won't kill/damage you. Inside the portal, help the relic guy/gal if they need it. Especially on Venus, throw a rocket or two and grenade at the Minotaur. That bastard is tough. Weapons: If you have a raid weapon, max that out ASAP. Weapons like the Timepiece, Atheon's Epilogue, and Vision of Confluence are strong on Oracles and help a lot. Void is the element of choice for the raid, so try and focus on those weapons that have it. Also if you're going to use that Proxima, I'd advise using Field Scout. Bumps it up to a 27 round clip which = more sustained fire. Any questions, feel free to reply/private message me. I'll try and respond quickly.

            • When you defend the confluxes you can send one skilled high level to defend right. Near the pillars where you first jump down there is a short wall you can take cover behind and have a perfect line of sight to the enemy spawn. This way you can have more man power on the left since it gets overrun with enemies fast. Just make sure one guy on middle is in position to back up right if shit goes down.

                • Be level 30 or 29 + maxed weapons. Don't use you "favorite" gun, use the most effective gun. Stay in cover. Communicate. If you don't know the best way to do something, listen to others. Don't get ballsy and go for the extra kill when your Low shield, staying alive is better than risking it for a sacrifice kill - no revives in hard mode. so basically you suicides. Don't get frustrated if you have a hard time. Ask for help so you can perform better. Don't die.

1.) Have great communication. Especially during the Conflux stage when Minotaurs come. 2.) Oracle stage is doable on the ground, but much easier if you wipe and snipe the Oracles from the top spawn area. 3.) Templar push off is still your best bet. It only takes an extra 5 minutes or so to kill him legit. Granted that's if you're on a good team and don't wipe. 4.) When you get teleported during the Atheon encounter those who don't get teleported will be detained. Make sure no one is jumping while the Time Gate opens. Realistically everything on hard is the same on normal, just with more HP, other than #4. The only real tip I have, that most people don't do on normal, is; During Times Vengeance when everyone jumps to the middle platform to shoot Atheon have one player, usually your lowest level player or a Hunter with Golden Gun, on Supplicant duty. His job would be to kill any left over Supplicants, once they're all dead he can then shoot Atheon. If you have a Titan in your fire team have him pop a Weapons of Light bubble on the very back of the middle platform and have everyone grab the buff for shooting Atheon. At about 2 seconds left in Times Vengeance have the Titan pop a bubble around all of you so you can stay on the middle platform. Mind you, everyone has to work their way to the back of the bubble so those who stay and get detained can shoot themselves out of their detainment. As you cannot shoot detainment bubbles while in a Titan bubble. This is the strategy we use, it's a bit difficult to get everyone setup on the same page, especially with new groups doing it for the first time, but after a bit of practice it's like clockwork. Usually doesn't take my team more than 2-3 teleports to down Atheon, if the bugs stay away.

                  • Make sure to find cover with 5 seconds left of Times Vengeance. On hard whoever didn't get teleported inside the portal gets detained. And if the outside team doesn't take cover then they are likely to be killed by a nearby supplicant or be detained in midair and fall out the bottom. Everyone should attack the minotaur You can sneak up on the hobgoblins if their backs are towards you. Just don't jump. They'll hear it. Sprinting is fine. Avoid grenades during Times Vengeance. It moves Atheon around too much and you're at risk of sticking one to the back of your teammates head and blowing yourself up. On hard you only get one life. No revives.

When defending the confluxes run and hide in the spirit bloom room whenever you see the message "the Templar sends forth it's legions" and come back out when the legions disappear/it's time to protect the confluxes again.
