Does warlocks's radiance attract bad players?

Whenever I raid, even now that I am lvl 30 on two characters, I end up running with 2 or 3 warlocks. They are constantly dying and using their supers to come back to life. I'm sitting here alive killing enemies and jumping out of hairy situations as a hunter and titan, yet warlocks on my team usually can't hold their own. I feel like I'm always the last man standing for a wipe on the raid because it seems that sun singer warlocks attract the worst players. Prove me wrong please. Edit: You all have brought up some good points. I can see how the super itself can help you to dish out more dps and stay in riskier situations. The situation I was seeing however was during Gate Keepers on hard, people were just instantly dying leading me to believe they weren't thinking that far ahead strategy wise. Didn't think this was going to get so many replies but my phone has been blowing up for a few hours lol.

  • Warlocks are kind of like the men on the front line. I'm not gonna lie, as a warlock, I do play riskier than I should. And I know I shouldn't especially on hard mode in the vog. But I'm just trying to have fun. But when I need to, I can also play carefully, trying my best not to die. Especially when I'm one of the three people alive on the conflux part of gatekeepers. I do admit I've grown a little dependent on knowing I basically have two lives. Which is why I always grab relic except for templar. Nobody can deny that it is useful.

Gatekeepers on hard doesn't have a strategy beyond struggling to stay alive against the hordes of goblins surrounding you from every direction and trying to kill praetorians. By about the 1:30 mark there's no safe place left to regenerate. I'll take a self-res over anything else during that checkpoint.

  • Got to Friends as main Locks, they Die more often too but on the end of the Day they have the most kills. They just play more risky cus they now that they can revive theirselves.

  • I take more risks myself when it's ready to use. Play it more safe when it's down. But there have been quiet a few times that it's saved the group from a full wipe on atheon. Have had the guys holding the portal with me die outside and atheon just about dead only to get killed myself. Rez up get the portal open and finish him off

I think it does, it means that warlocks with that super generally think that they can stand anywhere and do anything, I cannot count the amount of times I've seen warlocks die in stupid situations, and even still die when they haven't got the super, sometimes it can be a real liability and other times it can be a lifeline, generally though a Titan is a lot better for the lifeline part though. Honestly there's no point in warlocks unless you're looking to push something off.

    • I use it to take more risks in every place but the raid. I've used both Sunsinger and Void Walker in raid. What you're saying is true though, I see a lot of Warlocks using it that way.

    • On my sunsigner w/ radiance, I never use Fireborn (selfrevive) simply because I found my self holding the super in case of death insted of using it more often to help the teammates. I'm using Song of flames, that reduce all cooldown for near by ally ... Grenades frenzy for everybody !

    • The reason warlocks die more is cause they can take risks cause of the revive so you don't have to play that safe

    • Okay, from the comments alot of warlocks use it in different ways. They know they can self rez, so they play reckless, or they like to do this or that. I'm not that way at all. I use my self rez as a failsafe program. I play semi conservative. I'll take a few hits, but cover if I'm about to die. My rez is saved for moments where I need to use it. People like to say "you just suck if you die on NF and use it" I never go into NF expecting to die. I never go into any situation expecting to die. I go in expecting that unexpected stuff will happen. That grenade that the enemy threw behind you, and you didn't see as you jumped back from the enemy shooting you and you die. Or Vandals freaking homing missiles that went around the corner and caught you before your health started regen'in. Those are the situations I prepare for with my rez. Or if I really need to pick my ally up, I will wait until I have it. So if anything happens. I can rez. But, thats me. Not everybody plays the sames.

Ok, I am A level 26 Sunsinger and I Try To stay alive. I Try to be more careful then others to be able to keep the Fireteam From Wiping. (Toilet Jokes Ftw) so Us Warlocks are not as Careless as you think. Edit: Also, I Sometimes Yolo It if my fireteam is dead to revive them, and it usually works. So LOL

      • If I' going to raid, my warlock is crowd control meaning I'm going to have to try and handle the mob spawns which could normally take out any player needing to be rescued. With Fireborn I can lay down the hammer and if I'm overwhelmed I can come back to finish the job. As far as the whole constantly dying thing, warlocks just have lower defensive stats. We're glass canons.

      • It's not that they're are bad but they feel (including me sometimes) they have thr ability to be more reckless because of fireborn. I have another hunter and stupidly thought I had that I'm a darkness zone and I tried to revive.

      • In experience, most warlocks I and my friends run with are quite bad, they see the radiance as a way of carrying them through a mission instead of as a tool of destruction. If I radiance, I generally use it to kamikaze fusion grenades at the end of a boss fight to get it finished faster, while most other warlocks die constantly and waste their radiance. When I found my two titans for my raid team, they both said to me that I was the first warlock that they'd seen that actually did something other than dying non-stop. So all in all, warlocks are incredible in the right hands, but a vast majority of less skilled players choose it.

      • warlocks on radiance: "i save my team from wipe! I'm important!" reality: lock being careless, dies, wastes selfrez when situation is not even hairy. everyone else is alive with no trouble. / thread

      • funny thing, when i am on my titan or hunter, i play conservatively and rarely die because dying and waiting for rez is a pain.however on my warlock i die all the time due to the fact that i dont need anyone to rezz me.

      • I think it's a unique situation of a crucible player learning how to raid. The crucible took me a long way and when I did my first hard raid I was floored. I didn't know where to go to hide because I had never needed to before. Maybe it's a learning thing. I would say inexperienced players are not bad maybe just not there yet. I may be one of the guys you are talking about. Don't worry I'll have it down by Lvl 30 haha.

        • Did a hard raid as a sunsinger and use it to generate orbs. Not to self revive. Every warlock that uses radiance doesnt know wtf to do with it

        • Lol I have radiance but the most I use it in hard raid to come back to life is 1 time and that's mainly because atheon did some glitchy stuff or splash damage

        • The thing is, because we have a self revive we play more ballsy because we can, well personally that's why, I have different playstyles depending on what class I am, but as a warlock I feel no need to sit far back since if I do have the occasional death I get right back up

        • If you plan to use your radiance, why not die anyway? Makes no difference, also can respawn you with ammo or nades in some instances. Not as obvious why warlocks always die.

The raid safe-life is the only good usage of this perk of sunsinger.

          • It's only the playstyle, when I have radiance I honestly don't play as cautious as if I don't, but there are times I am the last Alive for a wipe aswell and I still have my super
