...I stop listening... These words are boring and played out, and frankly shouldn't be a part of the general vernacular.

Edited by Barbatos: 11/28/2014 12:16:37 AMScrub- really dislike that term. Elitists apply it anyone who haven't met their standards and look down on their fellow gamers. Casual? Harcore? Those terms have been tossed around so much since last gen I don't know what it means to be a casual gamer or hardcore gamer these days.

This is why I say stuff like mongoloid or plebeian ;)

When I see scrub the song from tlc gets in my head...
-
Whenever I see "scrubs" I think of the tv show.
-
2 RepliesI don't mind the term casual. It can be used without it being derogatory. Scrub on the other hand, as soon as I see someone using it, I usually just discount anything they have to say. Harsh? Maybe.
-
Casual isn't that bad for me. My hated words are scrub, fanboy, butthurt and noob. I lose all interest after someone uses them in posts

3 RepliesEdited by DjNormal: 11/26/2014 11:48:27 PMBut what if I am a casual? I play a lot, I'm not hardcore and I still don't aim super-great with my thumbs. I'm not as casual as some, but still nowhere near the 5% of hardcore folks. Maybe Upper Middle Casual?

How about "redneck" Worst insult ever in my book

1 ReplyYour a scrub , I don't want no scrub a scrub is a guy who can't get no love me from , hanging out the passenger side of his best friends ride , trying to holler at me ...

1 ReplyWhat if we are discussing a leisurely day at home doing some dishes? Perhaps in some comfortable clothes?

I only say casual because I'm a casual player

2 RepliesEdited by Doc SoCal: 11/26/2014 8:27:30 PMAdd: Grinding Hard Work Wasted Time It is a luxury hobby that clearly way too many people have their IRL self worth way too wrapped up in... I just play games if they are fun for me and skip the ones that are not.

shut up, you filthy Casual scrublord..

16 RepliesWhat even does being a casual entail? I've always wondered. I play a few times per week, sometimes for hours at a time, sometimes for 5. Ive never done the raid because I can't guarantee I won't need to AFK or drop out if my 1 year old wakes up. Does that push me into the Scrubby category? Cause I can't get level 30 due to no raid gear?

5 RepliesIt's funny how these new generation kids think their hardcore if they only knew the grind it took for Mario games and old school arcades

1 ReplyMost definitely a casual gamer here, typically a couple of hours on a Tuesday night and the odd Sunday morning and that's about it. I did a couple of years hardcore gaming that involved coming home from work and starting the pc, I would get a quick shower as it was booting up then play from 5 till midnight every day and all weekend. After a couple of years I came to my senses and put the mouse down. Over the last 20 years I have been putting the energy in to different things and am now proficient at climbing, kayaking, mountain bike racing, archery, paintball, 4x4 off road building and driving, clay pigeon shooting, touring the UK and bits of Europe on a motorbike and running my own business. In my opinion far more rewarding than sitting in front of a screen and I doubt I will ever be more than a casual gamer again.

I agree.

I do my utmost best to find some way to mock them. Particularly in a way that is ironic.
