What’s the stupidest way you’ve killed yourself?
I put up a post recently about the fact that even level 30’s can do stupid things. I had so many comments from people saying about the stupid things they’d done, I thought I’d put up a separate post. Here’s just one example of something I’ve done.
I started as a hunter and only had one character for ages. My wife wanted to try Destiny so she started a titan. I was helping her get her level up and went into the crucible to get some bounties. I saw a whole team claiming a zone in control and thought to myself “bingo! I’ve waited a long time to do this. These guys aren’t going to know what hit them”. As I wasn’t experience using a titan, I didn’t realise that if you’re sprinting your special launches you a lot further. I went straight over the top of all of them, smashed down the other side and got shot in the back by all 6 of them :p
edit: I normally try to respond to all of the comments if I put up a post, but there have been so many I'm struggling to keep up. Keep them coming they're priceless. It's nice to see people making fun of themselves, rather than taking the game so seriously

Missed my target as well.

One time I was shooting the corpse of a vandal that had particularly annoyed me. Like...a lot. So I use up all my primary and heavy ammo, so I switch to the found verdict. Unloaded a few rounds in to him and....died. Shot myself literally in the foot.

I was really tired, not paying attention, jumped off the cliff in Nexus and half way down had a complete brain freeze and suddenly couldn't remember which button was jump. I panicked and pushed one, which turned out to be my grenade, so I landed on it, took the fall damage and then exploded.

Public Event. Defend the Warsat. It fell on my face and killed me. I couldn't stop laughing.

I threw a trip mine at one of my buddies, jokingly of course. We were starting Atheon on hard and I was joking around for fun. I then ran to right side to defend Venus and wow trip mine to the face. Lmao!! I'm dead and now it's probably a wipe

Glide leaves much to be desired when you find your self falling off the map because you didn't tap jump quick enough :/

Went to melee the Archon Priest. It didn't work out.

During IB I died 3 times in a row jumping/falling off the map. Not on purpose either.

Second time in VoG, first time past praetorians, we lost at the Templar and respawned on the ledge. I thought we were going to try again so I jumped down. I realized nobody else was jumping down so I tried to back up in mid-air. I fell off a cliff and died. Or all the times I've thrown a grenade that got caught on cover or corners. Or used a rocket launcher too close to myself. Or had shoulder charge ready and ran towards the guy with the fusion rifle. Or didn't realize stepping in the green puddles was a bad idea. Or tried to kill a bladedancer in my bubble shield. Or tried to FOH a boss to death. Or tried to outsnipe a sniper using a hand cannon.(worked once) Or......that's about it.

As a 30 hunter, pressing grenade instead of melee so I get my own trip mine to face, I did it at least every other game for a solid week. I eventually upped my armor so tripmine didn't 1 hit me. Works kinda well in crucible (if you don't mind blowing your face off)

Edited by Mooserati: 12/5/2014 4:24:18 PMDuring a Control match on Blind Watch yesterday I grabbed the heavy ammo drop from the rotating carousel area, pointed myself towards the B flag sliding door entrance, and I guess in a moment of excitement (to complete 15 rocket launcher kill bounty) used up all of my Triple Jump power to fling myself off the edge of the map with a fully loaded rocket launcher in hand. [b]EDIT: I'm seeing a lot of Trip Mine posts here also. Can definitely relate with that. At this rate it might be time to create a charity organization for widows of self-inflicted Trip Mine victims.[/b]

In the crucible with my titan super charged 4 enemy guys capturing flag so i think gonna super their ass, got close then jump use super and nicely put them in the defenders shield (at that point remembered that i didnt change my class to striker) got killed with other 3 people from my fire team. Shame on me :)

When I did my first legit hard raid I went into relic bubble at Atheon and i didn't know galajahorn doesn't shoot out from the bubble :(

I was in patrol on Venus. While walking around someone on a sparrow comes out of a loading screen, and hits me when he does I was immediately killed from a misadventure.

I shot a rocket at the Templar right when a detainment shield popped up. I did it 3 times......

Week b4 last we were doing the hard raid and im the shield holder cuz I'm badass and anyways we were about to beat the templer and I jumped up to hit a oracle pressed right trigger then bam death by oracle quite literally

I beat myself to death with a dictionary upon seeing your use of the word, "stupidest".

I've lost count of the number of times I've been strafing or jumping for an aerial shot with my rocket, and right at the point in which I pull the trigger, run behind some previously unseen block or jump up behind a support beam. Blow myself to smithereens. I was also lining up a rocket shot on the Archon Priest. All set to rip him a new one. Right as I pull the trigger he does that teleport shift bullshizzle and lands directly in front of me. Point blank. Yeah it didn't end well for me. In fact pretty much every embarrassing self inflicted death involves a poorly timed rocket shot on my part.
