What’s the stupidest way you’ve killed yourself?
I put up a post recently about the fact that even level 30’s can do stupid things. I had so many comments from people saying about the stupid things they’d done, I thought I’d put up a separate post. Here’s just one example of something I’ve done.
I started as a hunter and only had one character for ages. My wife wanted to try Destiny so she started a titan. I was helping her get her level up and went into the crucible to get some bounties. I saw a whole team claiming a zone in control and thought to myself “bingo! I’ve waited a long time to do this. These guys aren’t going to know what hit them”. As I wasn’t experience using a titan, I didn’t realise that if you’re sprinting your special launches you a lot further. I went straight over the top of all of them, smashed down the other side and got shot in the back by all 6 of them :p
edit: I normally try to respond to all of the comments if I put up a post, but there have been so many I'm struggling to keep up. Keep them coming they're priceless. It's nice to see people making fun of themselves, rather than taking the game so seriously

2 RepliesSo many stories 1. Sticking trip mine to charging thrall 2. Standing aginst wall and getting hit with sparrow 3. Double jumping with hunter and activate golden gun and float like a fairy off the map 4. Playing the mission/strike where you battle the tank on Mars. Get killed by it, get revived but he shot at my teammate and killed me again and it kept happening for like 3 more times 5. Forgetting boost on sparrow and jumping over deep hole and going straight down it 6. Sticking trip mine to charging thrall 7. Shooting rocket at enemies but hit passing sparrow 8. Sniper or something with ricochet rounds, friend pops defense bubble I shoot and bounces back and hits me in the face The list goes on and on and on 9. Stick trip mine on charging thrall

It's not stupid really, more ingenious, but funny. Had a Warlock in Crucible abusing blink and a shotgun. So the next time he blinked my way I looked straight down and chucked my trip mine, he didn't see that one coming at all. Much smiling was had that moment.

I would have to say the worst suicide that I had done was when I was doing to nexus strike the first time. I had powerleved the crap out of my Titan I realize cause I was 2-3 level above the first difficulty. I pulled out my Ward of Dawn for the first time ever and I had some rocket ammo with me, so I pulled out my rocket launcher and I shot thinking that the rocket would go through but instead I died horrendously. And not even 10 minutes later I pulled another Ward of Dawn and a warlock did the same thing

I usually solo the Templar and if I do hard with a team, I drop the relic for a moment and give the Templar some sweet lovin' from Sir Gallahorn. I always forget to step away from the floating relic and end up killing myself. My team is up top scratching their heads.

I was running along the forest area in shores of time. I just capped B and was heading for C and randomly was sent into the stars. It was like getting hit by and invisible jet. Right off the edge. There was nobody around me. I laughed for 10 mins

It was late. I was tired. I only needed another 300 XP to get the 9000 XP bounty. So, I went to the moon and as I landed a public event started. I jumped on my sparrow and floored it! I went up the hill and turned hard right........and drove right off the world. My friends were laughing at me and it was funny. So I went back to the tower to hand in other bounty's and clean out the green gear. Then........I accidentally deleted my swarm. Ugghhhh Lol

I was holding the relic during Templar fight and tried to break my buddies detainment bubble and subsequently knocked him out of it and he died we laughed for almost the rest of the fight.

Shot "Truth" at a Minotaur, it teleported right on top of me, and truth decided in this moment to actually track enemies and got us both lol

I was doing the Nexus nightfall solo the other night with my Titan. I had the shock grenade active and while hiding in the cave just inside the entrance I tried to throw a grenade at the adds that spawned in front of me. Managed to stick it to the wall right in front of my face and blew myself up. Gotta love going back to orbit because I grenaded myself.

This wasn't my fault. I was doing the archon priest strike as my warlock earlier, went down after Askor meleed me, got revived RIGHT next to him, meleed again.

Throwing up a Titan bubble in nightfall setting my controller down to get a drink and accidentally rocket launching myself out of existence.

1 ReplyThis wasn't me but a warlock in crucible he saw me and I was low he was a B fall on the Venus map where the arch is and jumped nova bombed the arch and died I recorded it I believe.

Got crushed by a spider tank when it dropped from the ship in Cosmodrome when a public event started.

During the nightfall, while standing in the water shot myself with an icebreaker with solar burn active. I had to restart the whole thing.

Shot my truth at Atheon and a damn supplicant appeared near me and the proximity detonation caught the supplicant killing myself... I face palmed...

PS exclusive strike to defeat the Psyons? Only one to go and I'm kitting him in the circular area where the drop ship unloads. I boost into the air with my bad ass Titan...only to get run over by the next incoming drop ship. One shot kill.

At the start of a fresh respawn during Atheon, i was hopping up on the pillar to defend myself against supplicants... When someone using blink (we told him to stop using it) decides to blink directly below me as i'm jumping. The force of his teleporting body hitting my feet flings me into the ceiling, killing me instantly. Laughed for a couple of minutes.

Told my team I got rockets ready...gonna take my shot. Teammate steps in front of me and I die. Happened more than once. Thing that bothers me most is no damage to teammate. I don't want friendly fire but yeah...whatever.
