What’s the stupidest way you’ve killed yourself?
I put up a post recently about the fact that even level 30’s can do stupid things. I had so many comments from people saying about the stupid things they’d done, I thought I’d put up a separate post. Here’s just one example of something I’ve done.
I started as a hunter and only had one character for ages. My wife wanted to try Destiny so she started a titan. I was helping her get her level up and went into the crucible to get some bounties. I saw a whole team claiming a zone in control and thought to myself “bingo! I’ve waited a long time to do this. These guys aren’t going to know what hit them”. As I wasn’t experience using a titan, I didn’t realise that if you’re sprinting your special launches you a lot further. I went straight over the top of all of them, smashed down the other side and got shot in the back by all 6 of them :p
edit: I normally try to respond to all of the comments if I put up a post, but there have been so many I'm struggling to keep up. Keep them coming they're priceless. It's nice to see people making fun of themselves, rather than taking the game so seriously

Ever blinked in to two hobgoblin lasers while simultaneously firing a rocket at a praetorian who then gets launched back towards a team-mate who attempts to solar wind him off the edge at the exact moment another team-mate jumps in between, getting knocked off the edge of the map in the process? Yeah, haha, me neither.......:'(

when i first spawn into the earth patrol and want to go towards the divide i will always get on my speeder spin around and fly off the cliff like a boss

1 ReplyI probably beat the most stupid way to die. Was doing earth strike nightfall with a friend and another. My friend died. And I was heading to revive him. The giant robot prepared to launch its deadly missile I think: I can make it! I'll just jump and glide over. But unfortunately the missile launched the moment I entered the laser beam and the missile hit me directly and killed me instantly. Despite that we still completed it and had a major good laugh. XD

I have 3 30s and an alright k/d. I am famous for killing myself with a rocket launcher, blinking straight off a cliff, and throwing nova bomb into the very edge of something in front of me thus injuring myself.

Got hit mid air hut didn't die, mossed one of them but a team mate shot it so it got in its shield. I went for the kill cause you're not supposed to fricking shoot them, but died in the fire shield.. Edit! Even worse, I once threw a trip mine grenade to help out against minotaur, but it didn't go off. As I kept going down killing the oracles, my tripmine decides it was a good time to blow up with me right there, killing me..

VoG hard I was shooting the hardlight a round bounce off the wall killed me said I had a misadventure had my gun on ground glowing orange like an enemy killed me

Double jumped to get to a platform and activated arc blade then went over the platform and died

Yesterday stepping outside the Titans bubble to break the detainment shield at Atheon n falling off the edge. That or shooting the platform In front of me with a rocket on the Templar.

My hunter and titan have simalar loadouts. My hunter has trip grenades. I wasent using my titan and tossed a grenade into a planx relised what i had just done i swore loudly lol

Was THAT guy on atheon tonight... Twice. Shot my Gjallarhorn to close to rock on the left once then didn't realize a Titan had put up a bubble for WoL and proceeded to gjallarhorn myself to death once more Luckily I was on my lock and self rezed myself both times to save from embarrassment of explaining why I died...

Fist of Havoc'd off a cliff or two. Sometimes a rocket into the rock I'm trying to take cover behind.

I jumped up, in the process of throwing my grenade, and that group of Vex - right before the boss in the Ishtar sink. I was gonna nail them but they shot the grenade in my hand and it blew up in my face.

Last night in my first time in the VOG. Self rezzed during the Atheon fight only to instantly fall off the edge. Damned noob.

He doesn't have a head though so he's not hard to miss" "Ok. I'll come revive you homie!" "Ok. Just be careful on your left" Just some goblin right? I got this. Get to him, BLAM. melee killed me in one shot by a headless goblin to my left. This is my fault so technically I killed myself because I saw it and thought nothing of it. I swear that thing went super saiyan just to kill us

How to die idiotically in Raid: 1.back wall with the relic shield active 2.I pull out my Hezen vengeance 3.I shoot 4.I hit the stairs because I was a centimeter to close....

Most of them involve me with a boosting sparrow flying off a Cliff on the moon near the hell mouth that I always forget about. Also trip mine to a dreg that ran in my face. My most hilarious one is in the Vault of Glass on the jump puzzle my glide ran out at the weirdest time and I went full speed into the wall and killed myself. Most hilarious I saw of a friends was his Titan he ran up to fight the tank on the Mars Strike and right when he put the bubble up the tank just boosted right into it and ran him over.

Clipped the edge of the wall next to me with a rocket with the Nightfall all but beat this afternoon.

Got my sparrow and headed to the far left back room where I usually go. Almost died from the captain/vandals trying to get in. Hurried off my sparrow and ran up the stairs to heal, my sparrow decides to join me after taking too much damage and crashed and exploded right into me. 2. On atheon trying to get a rocket off at him while standing on top of the portal opener my buddy jumped up with me to avoid harpy explosions just as I was pulling the trigger... 3. Patrolling the moon solo to farm. Public event starts. Warsat fell out of orbit right on top of me. Note: all 3 incidents scared the living shit out of me.

I got the "strike without dying" bounty and it's kinda hard for me because I can literally do like 5 strikes without dying but as soon as I get this bounty I find some way to die. So I get through a strike without dying or even getting into the red. The archon priest had a sliver of health left and I threw a tripmine at him and it landed on him but he teleported right in front of me and we both died. My jaw was dropped open so long that I drooled on my controller bc I was so surprised
