What’s the stupidest way you’ve killed yourself?
I put up a post recently about the fact that even level 30’s can do stupid things. I had so many comments from people saying about the stupid things they’d done, I thought I’d put up a separate post. Here’s just one example of something I’ve done.
I started as a hunter and only had one character for ages. My wife wanted to try Destiny so she started a titan. I was helping her get her level up and went into the crucible to get some bounties. I saw a whole team claiming a zone in control and thought to myself “bingo! I’ve waited a long time to do this. These guys aren’t going to know what hit them”. As I wasn’t experience using a titan, I didn’t realise that if you’re sprinting your special launches you a lot further. I went straight over the top of all of them, smashed down the other side and got shot in the back by all 6 of them :p
edit: I normally try to respond to all of the comments if I put up a post, but there have been so many I'm struggling to keep up. Keep them coming they're priceless. It's nice to see people making fun of themselves, rather than taking the game so seriously

I shot my sparrow from a few meters away and when it put on the boosters, it splattered me against a wall.

Sticking enemies that are too close to me with tripmine grenades.

In the Gorgon Maze on hard with a full raid team, Buddy says "You know you can kill yourself if you stand in water and shoot your feet?" Me being curious and not fully believing him, goes into the water and starts shooting my feet with Corrective Measure, Three Bullets into my foot and the whole team wiped. Best Raid ever.

I grenaded myself soloing a nightfall when the boss had about 10% of his life left.

I shot my Shotgun right when i pulled behind cover straffing to my right, and suddenly i died, it said i was killed by the Architects with the emblem of my shotgun and it pointed my death cam at my gun laying next to me... Found Verdict... Guilty as charged.

Short story... Hit rock too fast but here is the true story. So, I was strolling round the cosmodrome and across the moth yards I see a lone sparrow. Naturally I was found this common sight unremarkable and continued on my was. As luck may have it, that sparrow rider decided that I didn't really like the cosmodrome and maybe would prefer space. He rammed into me with his sparrow, and sent me tumbling into a boulder which killed me and sent me too the heavens!

I've blown myself up on atheon...about 3 times. Maybe I should stop using rockets.

Atheon fight in VoG; I scrambled to get away from a supplicant after passing through the portal. Jumped toward center platform to join the relic holder...didn't make it. I slowly glided to my death. Lucky for me my warlock has self revive.

A lot of jumps where I get the distance wrong and just fall to my death. Many times in control where I've thrown my grenade at the capture zone, then forget its there and stand on it(hunter tripmines will kill the thrower). My two favorite funniest death that I've seen myself was of this Titan who went to do his jump smash on me but missed and went off a ledge, and a bladedancer who did the same thing with his arc blade dash.

Riding my sparrow in the Cosmodrome Steppes when suddenly I fly off that cleverly disguised cliff... again. *Face palm*

Had an "almost" moment on Atheon; as the only titan my job was to provide the bubble on the centre platform.....being a true defender I was well suited. Trouble is, I'd switched to striker to handle the mobs.....ALMOST clean wipe. Also funniest moment when I FoH'd instead of shield!

ive had that a couple of times. or had the striker titan helm that gives you the 'Superman Glide' perk on, and ran up like 'oh, 4 of you cluster-blam!-ed? i'm just gonna give myself a jumping, sprinting boost to make sure i cover the distance.' and my fist of havoc goes about a yard in front of me. half of them dance and the other 2 shoot me.

I tried to shoot down with fist of panic from above on a couple of enemies in the crucible then I hit a couple of wires hanging from the buildings and miss my target like 5 feet away then I got annihilated buy everyone.

Threw a trip mine at a Dreg's chest as I jumped over him. He did a 180 as the mine exploded and sent my body hurdling to the wall.

(1) when I throw a tripmine grenade then run through the door/aoe when the timer runs out. (2) when I made a new guardian(Titan) and I was a level three and I forgot that I didn't have my super yet and I went to a zone and there was the whole team I ran up and I tried to use my super but I didn't have it... 😡😡

Switched from striker titan to gunslinger, thought I could still propel forward with my super, jumped off the map

Lol, today, while goofing off with my new tumbler sparrow on the moon, I wanted to see how many flips it would do from a huge launch. Was spinning so fast, then, bam, guardian down, hahaha, never even hit the ground, dead in the air!

Was soloing the nightfall last week (sepiks with arc burn). Got to sepiks without too much of a problem, just had to be patient. I was a striker Titan btw. So I was in my little hiding spot at sepiks and decided to toss out a grenade to kill the cluster-blam!- of shanks out in front of me. I accidentally stuck that bitch to the column in front of me and took an arc bolt straight to my face. Back to orbit just like that. Let's just say I was slightly annoyed at myself.

Attempted a run at Randal, our friendly neighborhood Vandal. Threw a fusion grenade at him, stuck him, thought "better make sure it's good". Rushed in to melee for that extra damage. Grenade pops, I got melee'd instead, I die!
