What’s the stupidest way you’ve killed yourself?
I put up a post recently about the fact that even level 30’s can do stupid things. I had so many comments from people saying about the stupid things they’d done, I thought I’d put up a separate post. Here’s just one example of something I’ve done.
I started as a hunter and only had one character for ages. My wife wanted to try Destiny so she started a titan. I was helping her get her level up and went into the crucible to get some bounties. I saw a whole team claiming a zone in control and thought to myself “bingo! I’ve waited a long time to do this. These guys aren’t going to know what hit them”. As I wasn’t experience using a titan, I didn’t realise that if you’re sprinting your special launches you a lot further. I went straight over the top of all of them, smashed down the other side and got shot in the back by all 6 of them :p
edit: I normally try to respond to all of the comments if I put up a post, but there have been so many I'm struggling to keep up. Keep them coming they're priceless. It's nice to see people making fun of themselves, rather than taking the game so seriously

Public Event appeared in the Cosmodrome. I looked up and saw nothing... Warsat came out of nowhere at killed me. -.-

I was doing the heroic last week on lvl 26 as my lvl 25 Titan. I tried to chuck a lightning grenade into a group of Hive but it stuck onto a wall. This week there was arc burn. I was killed as soon as it was placed.

Two Cabal phalanxes played pinball with me. First one sent me flying into the direction of the second one (still alive). Second one finishes me and sends my dead body flying back

Running the raid with a new group. Jumped down to the Templar and forgot to double jump. Insta-death before we even started. Also blasted a teammate in the back with Helen vengeance during time's vengeance when atheon was about dead.

New to the relic on atheon, got to the middle put up my shield then tried to use the super.. Doh. Off the edge I go.

I was on the devil's lair strike. We had just killed the walker when I jumped up, the tanks cannon flew of the top of it and mauled my hunter.

The first day I got my trick sparrow, I was about 7k exp into the 9k bounty, and tried to do a fancy trick off that ramp between the Hellmouth and Archer's Line. Oops.

Was in a hard raid at atheon went into Venus went to shoot a rocket at minotaur he was round the corner I decided to jump up and shoot a rocket, I jumped and shot the Oracle that spawned above me. "everybody wipe"

threw a tripmine grenade at a knight, missed him with it. headshot him to kill him. he dropped a blue engram and I ran to pick it up and realized it landed right on top of the tripmine. I collected it right as my mine exploded.

After you beat the templar, and you dont go through the spirit bloom chest, just in the back and when theres that HUGE fall to the gorgons labyrinth, i tried jumping off that and died at least 20 times until i got it

On a 15 kill streak threw a timed nade on a node then ran in and it blew up on my face. New to hunters I was like wtf!?

1 ReplyWhen you switch characters to a warlock and forget that once you jump, if you wait to jump again thinking you'll go higher, instead you go down slowly...slowly... *revive in 10 seconds*

A thrall ran in front of me while I shot a rocket, this has happened more than once =(

When I first started using Warlock, I though Nova Bomb was really cool. I accidentally killed myself over and over with it. Then I came across a group of 5 capturing a flag in control. Thinking I could wipe them, and overestimating my own intelligence, I jumped up and shot the blast straight into a crate. Which, of course, killed me instantly.

I actually managed to shoot a Hunter's trip mine just as it left his hand. I blew it up and killed him.

I was doing the weekly night fall and had the Nexus at the lowest possible health left on the bar, barley a sliver left. When I tried to fire the final rocket, I shot the wall next to me immediately after teammate died sending us back to orbit. :/

2 RepliesTried to jump into that closed off area in the last mission while I was close to 9000xp on my bounty. It threw me backwards into the wall and I died instantly.

Thought it'd be a good idea to jump on top of the dropships that release the enemies to see where it'd take me, during a nightfall, and my body flew out of the map on Mars and my fire team couldn't revive me. Ended up getting sent back to orbit... I done -blam!-ed up

I shot my sparrow from a few meters away and when it put on the boosters, it splattered me against a wall.
