What’s the stupidest way you’ve killed yourself?
I put up a post recently about the fact that even level 30’s can do stupid things. I had so many comments from people saying about the stupid things they’d done, I thought I’d put up a separate post. Here’s just one example of something I’ve done.
I started as a hunter and only had one character for ages. My wife wanted to try Destiny so she started a titan. I was helping her get her level up and went into the crucible to get some bounties. I saw a whole team claiming a zone in control and thought to myself “bingo! I’ve waited a long time to do this. These guys aren’t going to know what hit them”. As I wasn’t experience using a titan, I didn’t realise that if you’re sprinting your special launches you a lot further. I went straight over the top of all of them, smashed down the other side and got shot in the back by all 6 of them :p
edit: I normally try to respond to all of the comments if I put up a post, but there have been so many I'm struggling to keep up. Keep them coming they're priceless. It's nice to see people making fun of themselves, rather than taking the game so seriously

Shot my detainment bubble with my skip round fusion rifle. As expected the Shots bounced off and vaporized me instantly.

The Truth's proximity explosion. was aiming at a dude far away. Another jumped on me as I fired. Rocket took us both out.

During a crucible match, I jumped for the platform u can use to flank control point b but my team mate jumped too and we both feel when I had gotten the heavy ammo like sec ago lol

One time when I was farmimg Spinmetal in the Skywatch area a WARSAT shows up. Wasn't paying attention to the place I was standing. Figured I would let it land and move on. It the ground and launchs me off the cliff. I try to use my jetpack to make it back. Only to hit my face on the wall and fall to my death.

Rocketed myself inside the templars detainment bubble, about 4 times in a row. Fist of havok'd off the edge of the map My personal favourite is when I accidentally murdered a warlock on the normal raid. 5 members of the team had completed the jump puzzle, every one of us except a level 30 who consistently painted the ledge with his face. My friend a blade dancer and i a titan decided to dick around while waiting, I tried to shoulder charge him off the edge while he dodged. One of the attempts however I jumped just before the shoulder charge leading to the knee charge; my friend still dodged but I unfortunately made contact with a warlocks face and sent him flying off the edge. I didn't realise what I had happened until an American accent shouts 'what the -blam!- just happened' followed by hysterical laughter from my friend and the rest of the fire team. Realising what I had done i chimed up with 'my bad man I knee charged you to the face' He sighed and replied 'it's alrite man, I used to be a raider like you: until I took a Scots man to the face'

Jumping from centre to left in vog gatekeeper, to super a group of supplicants.... My Titan jumps imperiously, and hulk smashes the empty space six inches to the side of the platform, plunging to his doom.

5 RepliesThat one time in the crucible when I stabbed a guy so hard he died upon hitting a couple canisters and his body ricochet back at me and killed me from the impact. I spent the rest of the match trying to contain the hysterical laughter.

Trying to jump to the Centre platform on atheon and decided to cuddle on of my team mates mid air, needless to say we spent our last moment embracing each other as we fell to our deaths.

Using my Truth rocket launcher behind a teammate...those "proximity" rockets are no joke...

Shot a rocket inside my Titan Defender bubble while I was trying to capture a zone. Instantly killed me and we lost the zone and eventually lost the match.

1 ReplyMy group was doing the hard raid and we had atheon down to a sliver of health left, I being a "competent" relic holder grab the relic easily killed the hobgoblons cleanse my team after they killed the rest of the oracles leave the portal start jumping to the middle platform... and missed the platform completely they were not happy lol

I have a 19-month old baby boy. He likes to walk around. He likes to swing objects and mess with my controller once in a while. He enjoyed this pastime one day whilst I had a Truth equipped and my hand gripped around my Xbox controller and "coincidentally" assisted in mashing the trigger when I was looking at the ground. Fun times. Fun times.

Double jumped to launch Gjallrhorn rocket against a praetorian in the future venus portal (hard mode), an oracle appeared in front of my face right when I hit the trigger, well you can guess what happened next

I had so many it's embarrassing... Most memorable, my very very first raid, full team first timers...Templar detains me (that was way back when, ppl were fighting him legit :D), didn't know about rocket launchers => dead. Teammate revives me, I'm shooting harpies, going like NO WAY THAT BASTARD WILL SEE ME AGAIN, I BELIEVE IN U ROCKET LAUNCHER => the same second I shoot a rocket - detained => dead. :( it was a sad first raid for me... Now rolling close to my 25th time thru vog, need to share one incident about funny deaths, not mine though. Was raiding with randoms, one 29 a first timer. He died on jumping platforms just after opening the vault door...while the rest of us were already down in Templars well, so couldn't revive. Decided to 5-man it. Got to Oracles, so the guy respawns at the top and decides to stay there. We're like ok, b our air support. Literally a minute later he got sniped by Hobgoblin...so we 5 manned oracles as well... :D it was hilarious though, and everyone was chill, but I still felt sorry for the poor guy :D

I was guarding a flag on control on Venus and as I crouched down and looked down my sight firing I walked myself of the side of the ledge.

Playing the Venus strike with the fallen priest (maybe mars? Don't remember at all lol) but I'm shooting this f^cker and then... I just... I fall off the edge into oblivion, utterly biggest FAIL so far for me

Tried to do my super on Phogath,and pretty much got falcon punched right off the screen. 3 cartwheels ftw.
