What’s the stupidest way you’ve killed yourself?
I put up a post recently about the fact that even level 30’s can do stupid things. I had so many comments from people saying about the stupid things they’d done, I thought I’d put up a separate post. Here’s just one example of something I’ve done.
I started as a hunter and only had one character for ages. My wife wanted to try Destiny so she started a titan. I was helping her get her level up and went into the crucible to get some bounties. I saw a whole team claiming a zone in control and thought to myself “bingo! I’ve waited a long time to do this. These guys aren’t going to know what hit them”. As I wasn’t experience using a titan, I didn’t realise that if you’re sprinting your special launches you a lot further. I went straight over the top of all of them, smashed down the other side and got shot in the back by all 6 of them :p
edit: I normally try to respond to all of the comments if I put up a post, but there have been so many I'm struggling to keep up. Keep them coming they're priceless. It's nice to see people making fun of themselves, rather than taking the game so seriously

(Xbox One) Not really stupid but more unlucky: my first Nightfall attempt I died due to controller battery outage .... :) (A quick shoutout: Micrisoft, add a damn warning when my battery hits 5% or something!) I was gunning along the entire level, got to the final boss without dying solo (was soo proud). allmost had him (i think about 10% health) when i did a sidejump and mid air my controllers' batteries died on me ... not sure why it doesn't just stop in it's tracks (i would have been save long enough to swap out the batteries) but my char kept on walking left .... all the way down a cliff .... I did learn (i have a batterypack) to swap my batterypack each friday, regardless if it's empty or not :)

I had a similar experience except my Titan was brand new and I hadn't even unlocked the super yet.

I cant think of me killing myself. But i did see a titan try to sneak through the gorgon maze in the middle of two invisible hunters. That was too funny. Lol

I tossed a sticky grenade at a wall after someone sidestepped and it bounced and hit me instead. My ribs are still sore from the laughing.

Me and my friend were in vault of glass we were at the edge of the cliff and I saw a ledge that might have a chest on it I go to jump an my friend who was a sunsinger used his special punch and launched me almost to the other side of the cliff but I hit an invisible wall and fell to my death

I was aiming my rocketlauncher at the cannons of a cabal dropship, wondering if I could take out those cannons. I saw the ships rocket coming towards me, but I pressed Fire anyway and the rockets hit eachother right in front of my face.

I blew myself. A strike "buddy" spawned in front of me as I fired a rocket... it was hilarious.

okay, now here comes one that happened to me yesterday: ...i was patroling on Venus (the area where the Strike starts) and the Public Event started. first dropship sropped some fallen and i thought it was the 'Defeat Extraction Crews', so i started to shoot them one by one when all of a sudden i died instantly - guess what? ...the freakin Fallen Walker landed on me!! :P

At the end of this week's night fall I popped a bubble with the titan defender... went out... threw the sticky grande onto a knight ultra and went back in... knight rushed into my bubble and blew up and I died while he stood blinded by my helm of saint perk... had to restart all the way from the beginning) :

Riding my sparrow on the top of that giant railing the moon, and hit a chest and immediately exploded.

I rushed a Hive drop ship on Summoning Pits. I warlock - hovered away from an enemy and was splattered by the ship. All I heard in my headset was, "lolololol Xbox record that."

hmm....there's so many.... was on shores of time, at bravo....sighting down enemies in the archway, and wasn't paying attention...walked right off the platform then there was the time i misjudged the glide slope for a jump in twilight gap on my titan...ran out of booster just short of the platform, and fell to my death. i blew myself off the awning on blind watch with a rocket launcher, and fell to my death..... wasn't paying attention during a public event in the divide, and failed to notice that i was standing right where the walker was gonna drop...i'm sure i don't hafta describe how badly that ended... i launched myself off the particle accelerator on the moon with my sparrow....good news is that the section of the the accelerator on the other side of the canyon is actually a real thing you can stand on...no invisible walls...the bad news is it's out of bounds, so i died before i could get back. oh, and then there was the time i launched myself at a level ?? dreg near the grottos...i was trying to use my titan hulk smash super...but he one-shotted me in the face, while i was mid-air... there's more...but i think i've embarrassed myself enough for one night...

I use helm of inmost light on my titan and sometimes I forget to press forward when supering. Long story short I saw four guys capping B on Mat Mons, jumped halfway across the gap before pressing my super and dropped like a rock with all of them staring at me.

5 RepliesI may have a winner here: First Sepiks nightfall many weeks back... Myself and two friends have just finished off the walker, so we hop on our sparrows to speed up to final room. Once approaching the door, two friends get off sparrows, and are ready to fight. I patiently wait for the door to open while mounted on my sparrow. The door opens and I fly straight at the enemies for some splatters. All goes well, I then turn around for one more splatter, just then I begin to take damage. My first response is to speed away to the entrance door for cover. Just then I am shot one too many times and bail off the sparrow, I get launched into the air and hit the wall with so much force I expire, as my shield was already depleted. My destroyed sparrow speeds off and clips one of my fireteam members, throwing him to the adjacent wall, killing him on impact. The sparrow then speeds directly at our remaining member, slams him into the doorway, pinning him against the wall, and kills him. wipe. we return to orbit laughing our assess off. It was amazing.

Shot my detainment bubble with my skip round fusion rifle. As expected the Shots bounced off and vaporized me instantly.
