What’s the stupidest way you’ve killed yourself?
I put up a post recently about the fact that even level 30’s can do stupid things. I had so many comments from people saying about the stupid things they’d done, I thought I’d put up a separate post. Here’s just one example of something I’ve done.
I started as a hunter and only had one character for ages. My wife wanted to try Destiny so she started a titan. I was helping her get her level up and went into the crucible to get some bounties. I saw a whole team claiming a zone in control and thought to myself “bingo! I’ve waited a long time to do this. These guys aren’t going to know what hit them”. As I wasn’t experience using a titan, I didn’t realise that if you’re sprinting your special launches you a lot further. I went straight over the top of all of them, smashed down the other side and got shot in the back by all 6 of them :p
edit: I normally try to respond to all of the comments if I put up a post, but there have been so many I'm struggling to keep up. Keep them coming they're priceless. It's nice to see people making fun of themselves, rather than taking the game so seriously

I jumped backwards to avoid a Minotaur... Turns out I had my back to the edge of the map and fell to my death

In the psion flayers strike I was trying to last-shot Numoc with a rocket launcher and ended up somehow flying of the ledge and dropping somewhere unrevivable. And the worst part is: He didn't die!

In a raid shooting at enemies walking backwards as to not die and walking off cliffs

I saw an opportunity to use my lighting grenade to kill 3 peeps on the new b flag on blind watch. I hit the pipe and the Lightning killed me -_-.

Gjallahorn locked on 2 a cabal then missed so I used my shotgun and rushed only to be killed by the rocket that I shot hit me in the back of the head, good to know not a single rocket will miss 😃

On atheon hard, half the group got killed by splash in the middle but atheon was almost dead so I jumped off so the other two would get ported and I could self Rez. Only then realized was on my titan and not my lock

Got off my Timebreaker as it was exploding. Turns out the explosion damage only takes effect if you're not on it.

Backflipped the tumbler into a green pit on the moon

I'm in the top 5% for walking off cliffs in crucible and raid.

I once accidentally walked off the edge of the map while carrying the relic. The first relic after gatekeeper. Just after I picked it up, too... V8 moment for sure.

His supplicants swarm us as we battle to keep them at bay while our fearless team mates are targeted by oracles in the conflux. As they appear from the portal all head to the middle to unleash our light upon the vex Lord. I shout out weapons of light at the back as I jump across. However looking to get the ward down asap I activate in mid air and completely miss the platform. Team mates is absolute stitches!!

Said so many times. But watching that enemy crouch down and aim that trip mind right into your face never feels better.

2 RepliesWhen you kill a guardian in the crucible their ghost hovers above their corpse as a reminder of their failures. After a very effective clip of auto rifle ammo to the face, I left one such ghost hovering over my fallen foe. With a swift switch to my heavy launcher I aimed and fired upon three enemies in control zone. It's gjallahorn, it's locked on, it's not going to miss..... Unless it hits that ghost that's floating an inch infront of me. Which it of course did. I didn't even know you could shoot those damn things. Let alone blow your self up with your own blast damage. Needless to say, I was angry to loose my heavy ammo and kill streak to a floating Peter dinklige.

Punching those instakill bombs sitting around in PvE, on purpose. I just find it so hilarious to blow myself up, especially after clearing out a room of enemies.

Last night I went through the portal to kill the Mars gatekeeper. I stepped in, pulled out my truth, aimed and fired! Right as I fired a second person came through the portal and appeared directly i front of me.....I exploded. One of those wtf just happened moments.

Well I was playing crucible and a blade dancer was chasing me so I decided to try to blink away but when I use blink he blade dance me at the same time but I didn't die I got launched across the map and died

Putting a round from Gjallarhorn into the back of a fellow striker while we were taking down Sekrion in the Nexus. All my fault since I'd scope swept him multiple times as he'd been moving in front of me all damn game...I should have known he'd do it when I was firing something that would be lethal to me.

I hit a rock on my sparrow and ended up catapulted across the map, couldn't make it back before the 4 secondd were up.....

I was using Titan Smash as I was landing a enemy was right below me and I hit him I died, via shotgun triple team . but got a triple kill still, And finished the Iron Wrath Bounty
