How good is Jolder's Hammer?
So I got one the other day as an IB match reward, and I was wondering what peoples' opinion of it is? It seems pretty fun; a slow firing, but very heavy hitting monster. Thing is, I already have a maxed out The Culling (FWC LMG) and I was wondering if it's worth starting over with the Hammer. Outside of Raid weapons and exotics, is it the best LMG in the game?

It depends on whether you like it or not. It's a good Heavy Machine Gun, but it's very different from The Culling. If you want to use it, then no one's going to stop you.

It pretty much fires hand cannon bullets nearly at the same speed as the zombie apocalypse

2 RepliesEdited by Et Himmen: 11/24/2014 11:13:48 AMIf you can wrap your head around the astonishingly low ammo capacity clocking in at a measly 52 rounds (26 to a mag, 2 mags... can be alleviated with the roll of field scout) then yeah its a good gun...kicks like a truck but the recoil patern is easy enough to get a handle on without any stability upgrades. This thing hits like a truck, headshots will grant you a 2-3 shot kill but the problem is the fire rate. You will see any high rate of fire mg beat you out if you miss even 1 shot. The culling is a prime example of a weapon that CAN beat an inexperienced JH user. Expecially with persistence and hipfire on the culling its a formidable weapon.

2 RepliesI like that you used proper grammar. :) a first on these forums. My thoughts on the hammer: pretty -blam!-ing awesome. I ground my way through to level 5 and eventually got 2. Re-rolled the perks a couple of times and got a decent result, I think it's on my Titan.

I have both and even having the hammer not maxed it chews up enemies. Love it!

I used it yesterday to kill the vex majors and it was doing almost triple damage compared to my corrective measure without an upgrade on it yet :0!! It even has an upgrade for maximum ammo capacity

Was using The Culling for IB and struggling with it, getting beat in 1v1 against anyone with a different machine gun or even suros. Got the hammer and I am killing 3-4 guys before dying. Brutal weapon, hits like a truck. Can't wait to max it out

I enjoy it. Rate of fire is fairly slow compared to others but you can practically feel it pummelling your targets. Very satisfying to use.
