This may be a bump, but I found a Forbes article which apparently reveals the real story of Destiny: http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2014/09/29/destinys-lost-story-reveals-a-very-different-game-prior-to-launch/ Not to spoil what's in the article: although I prefer the newer story, it was far from amazing. The story missions still would've been subpar. Either way, Destiny would have a predictable plot. I can see why there were two visions competing. I wonder whether the other idea, which we supposedly have now as a story would of been a lot more thorough and amazing if they'd had enough time to develop it.
