Story missions have checkpoints?
Im trying to do the divisive mind bounty on mars and everytime i start the mission it spawns me just before the divisive mind at the cyclops... anyone else experienced this or know why it might happen cuz it keeps the divisive mind from spawning when i start there...

Not to be rude i mean i appreciate the effort to help but you are all like 2 months late i posted this nov 22 and got it resolved in the first comment on nov 22 so plz just ignore this post ive got a 32 and 2 31s now i understand how cps work at this point

Defeating the Hydra (Divisive Mind) is the checkpoint, even though they start you before the Cyclops on a restart. He'll already be destroyed. You have to restart the level. On the difficulty select screen, press the same button you would to reset on another screen ("X" on an Xbox). When you start the level, you'll be prompted to confirm the restart. This is how you know you've got it. I think this is the only bounty for which you have to do it. It involves a lot of driving, but that's it. For most of them, if you go back to orbit immediately after completing the bounty, when it comes up again, you'll be set.

Story missions save checkpoints on the previous difficulty you used so if you choose a higher difficulty than the previous one you played and hit resume, it will restart the mission from the very beginning.

When picking the mission hit X to restart, then when picking the difficulty hit X, then when you go to lauch the mission a message should pop up saying are you sure you want to restart.

Hit x on Xbox to restart. Even hit it when choosing difficulty. And starting mission. Voila restart

Same thing happened to me today. I had to finish the mission in order to restart so divisive mind would spawn.

3 RepliesJust chose to restart the mission instead of resuming it. It did that to me and I just restarted on a different difficulty.
