Some biggots think that just because they want to be their own country that they are (by all means, leave; nobody wants you)

Lets see we have our own power grid, oil industry, military complexes, etc. But still wouldn't say we should split into our own country. Then America would look weird on the map without Texas.
-
Just curious, how does wanting independence make one into a bigot? Texas would never leave, but if it did, it would cause a very brief yet very serious crisis. Do you have any idea how many of our soldiers are from Texas? Bringing them back into the Union (which we would do) would be a chore and result in a protracted conflict whose costs would not outweigh its benefits. Do you remember the Alamo? Well, every Texan does, and that's what they would shout as they gun down American soldiers. Texas posesses some strange sort of nationalism, and when you combine that with tenacious southerners and guns, literally every single battle we fight against them is going to become a neo-Alamo. Old men and children are going to singlehandedly hold off Bradley IFVs while defending their own home as though it was the last bastion of freedom on Earth. Not to mention the paperwork. Would they join the UN? NATO? What would they do with all their dollars? And it's not like they have any trade potential, all their oil is long gone and cotton isn't quite the cash crop it once was. And what about the Texas State football team? Could they still be a part of the NCAA? The only thing they wouldn't have trouble with is defense, but other than that, Texas secession would just make everyone mad. Fun fact: did you know that Vermont was also an independent country for a short while? To this day, there is a Vermont secessionist party that believes they should become their own country again!

Edited by daPWNDAZ: 11/21/2014 2:59:08 PMTexas technically is it's own country, since they were a country when they joined the US. They signed a treaty and allied with the US, but maintained the right to secede at any given time. EDIT: I meant that they're not currently recognized as a country, but they could be when they choose to. EDIT AGAIN: I'm not saying that they want to leave and start a war, sheesh. I'm just saying that when they joined the US they reserved the right to leave.
-
Not that I really have an issue with them seceding, I believe the part in their constitution about them being able to secede was shot down in court once... Id have to actually google that though and I'm too lazy to do that right now lol

Edited by Cobravert: 11/21/2014 2:47:56 PMfwiw, if they did secede, I'd consider moving there. Washington is too broken to fix.
-
People that don't want Texas to be their own country say that because they need the tax revenue that comes from it or the union collapses.
-
We have been trying to do this to Quebec forever. They just won't get the hint. Stupid French
-
39% of the flood are incompetent degenerates that need to be removed from existence.
-
It can't leave the union, at least legally
-
Pretty sure Texas was it's own country at one point.
-
They will never leave

#imbatman? More like #imbantman, 'mirite

Texas and California are two places that I want out of the union. They both make no sense. Along with Florida. Only reason I want Florida to stay is because of Disney World, and the chance to see it sink.
-
I'm British, so all you Yankees look the same to me..
-
I remember when California declared that they were going to secede and become their own country.
...but then they got high.
They were even going to try to find a way to become an island by triggering the fault line.
...but then they got high.
They said they would settle for just becoming 6 or 7 new states, and stay in the US.
...but then they got high, but then they got high, but then they got hiiigh.
It isn't right now, but they're justified for wanting to.
