Evolution of the UNSC Marine.
It's been a while since I've made one of these threads, but now that #Gaming is back up it's time to continue analyzing together as a Community.
Which Marine/Infrantry unit is the most asthetically pleasing to you?
I'll go by game realese so we can get a graphical feel.

[spoiler]Note: I did not include either Anniversary marines because finding a good shot of a Halo 2 one proved pretty difficult so I left both out entirely. Plus CEA is pretty much the Reach version so it doesn't really matter. I also combined ODST with 3 because they're marines are the same model.[/spoiler]

I've always liked the halo 3 marines. Reach marines come close seconds tho.

I've noticed that the Halo 2A marines seem somewhat reminiscent of the Halo Wars Marines (in Wars' cinematics. I'm not saying they're blocky and move in groups of 6). I personally liked Reach for the variability in equipment. 4's were cool, and it seems like they would have had almost equal variability, but we rarely ever saw them in-game, to my utter disappointment. I love nothing more than leading a squad of marines (or grunts and jackals, in Halo 2) into battle

I loved the variants and different components that went into each marine in Reach, and it was pretty cool that they re-used the skin in CE anniversary since those marines just came from Reach.

They weren't scrawny guys in green plastic armour like they were in Halo 3. I did like the dialogue that the Halo CE marines had, though. Really gave them a characteristic 'Aliens' vibe.

1 ReplyThe ODSTs in each game take the coolness cake. Ironically, in ODST (the game) my favorites were the New Mombasa cops. They had the coolest helmets. Out of those listed, I would go with Reach. [spoiler]Although it's my understanding that the majority of them aren't in fact Marines![/spoiler]

Reach, the H4 marines were detailed, but I don't think they portray the same organized, cookie-cutter fighting force that the Reach marines do.
