Why do people like Combat Evolved so much?
Sure, it's a good game but it's by no means the best Halo. I understand that for that day and time, it was revolutionary and it changed FPS's, but it also needed a lot of improvements. One example, I want to shoot myself every time I drive a warthog in CE.

4 RepliesIt's fun but It has a lot of nostalgia too it. Like the campaign. It's one of the easiest campaigns in the series on legendary. I played it the other day and actually forgot it was legendary (I usually play heroic). But so many people swear it's the hardest.

4 RepliesBecause a lot of people played this in their childhood, and Hell to a lot of people it may have been their first shooter ever. Halo came out just at the right time, and influenced a lot of people. The only thing that rivals the impact it made is halo 2. Either way, both games are just... Well, they're perfect games. And I don't mean flawless in design, I mean in the way they changed the industry, and the people, and the way it changed how we see consoles. It revolutionized game soundtracks, and brought along one of the earliest LAN experiences, which halo 2 perfected with matchmaking. I wouldn't trade my first experiences with halo for anything. Hopefully I can say that for a lot of people.

Nostalgia coupled with having the 15 other people in your game in the same room. Nothing can top being able to trash talk your friends face to face when you killed them with an epic shot.

I like it because of the lack of information we had. We barely knew anything about the covenant, and the forerunners were a complete mystery. Halo feels more appealing to me when I can wonder and speculate about the ancient civilizations. That's why I didn't read the forerunner saga.

I loved it when it first came out. But let's be honest, I hate playing the first two missions. They are so slow, and long I just get so bored. I love all the halos man but halo 2 was my absolute favorite and now trying to play halo ce when I've got halo 2 on the same disc I find myself just not wanting to play it

CE has a different gaming "feel" to it.. I don't what it is, but I like that feel.

4 RepliesI enjoyed all the Halos. My favorite though and it's hard to believe but Reach was it for me. Looking forward to Halo 5 though word is aiming down the sight is gonna be there and that will make the game that much better. Hoping the story is good though.

A classic, and very fun to play. Legendary is also brutal, it's nice to actually fear one too many elites once in a while.

I don't know why but i love this I've played the mission truth and Reconcillation about 6 times in a raw today it is just so amusing and fun to play Like the Library Or pillar of autumn

My driving was always its best in CE. I could (and did) take that 'Hog anywhere. Once the physics got better and stuff could break, though? I stopped being a wheel man.
