Feedback on how the new forum has impacted #Gaming.
When I first came to Bungie, posting to this forum about other games was forbidden! It was important to me that gamers had the freedom to express themselves sincerely. I play lots of games. I love Bungie games, but more than one disc spins in my tray. This board was always intended for those conversations.
Sorry that the release of Destiny threw this corner of the forum into disarray. I am thrilled that people are using our site to make friends and play games, but there should be a specific place for that. Yesterday, we built that place. Please link people to there is they come here to look for allies.
Sound off and tell me if the new forum structure is helping.

So one of the greatest accomplishments this new update brought has to be #SeventhColumn. Maybe instituting another subcategory in #Gaming would give promising results like #SeventhColumn. We can call it something like #IvoryTower...

Thanks for bothering DeeJ, and everyone who works on the forums, however it doesn't seem to have had a big impact. Now both Recruitment and Gaming are flooded with these posts. I know this isn't your fault, I just thought I'd share.

the only thing that isint working right now is that linking people to the new forum is only resulting in constant profanities and disrespect and vulgar slurs about sexual orientation. and rarely, insults to moderation staff. so id assume that falls under disrespect/threats? i mean really....its really difficult to keep composure when your notifications are full of GTFO I POST WHERE I WANT. it hurts my brain now....

Edited by Blonic : 11/15/2014 3:27:30 PMAs good as it is that there is a new forum that is redirecting some activity that was flooding into here, there is still a substantial amount of people posting VoG threads here. I feel like there should be a massive temp banning of people for a few days if they incorrectly post in the wrong forum and maybe tell them in the banning that this is not the right forum for VoG threads. If that happens, then this place can get filled up with gaming threads again and people will get a better idea of where they should be posting, seeing as they don't listen to members politely trying to redirect them. More severe measures need to be taken. EDIT: Maybe there should be instead of a full forum banning, do a 4 day temporary ban for people specifically from this subforum, if at all possible. EDIT 2: Honestly, the description for this subforum should be changed to just talking about all games besides destiny, so that way people will stop posting Destiny raid threads here.

3 RepliesIt only really fixed "trending," not "latest." The issue is may be app users, they don't realize it's Bungie forums, not just Destiny forums because the app says "destiny companion." Description for Gaming should be "anything, except Destiny" and there needs to be a punishment, like a post ban, and a way to report people that refuse to post in the correct subforum. The recruitment forum is a start but it needs be more specific. Having recruitment for Raids, strikes, general game play, and clans is too much, causing posts to be buried too quickly and making people post in other forums in hopes for a better response. Clans should be its own category, recruitment should be further divided into PS4, XB1, PS3, XB360 so posts get buried less.
