I've noticed that when people quit out of 6v6, it's pretty good about finding replacements to to fill that team back up.
In 3v3 playlists, my fireteam is CONSTANTLY having to track down ONE KID that will not -blam!-ing leave. And I really don't even want to be mad at that kid for not quitting. It sucks that their other two teammates bailed. But having to hunt that one player down over and over isn't fun for me, and I know it isn't fun for them. It just drags the match out and it feels like a GRIND.
I would like to see one of two things happen, if not both. Obviously, if matchmaking could be improved so that it is faster/better about giving them new teammates, awesome. That would be great.
If that is unreasonable or would take too much work, I would like an option similar to Madden matchmaking. An option to concede defeat or friendly quit. If your team bails, you should be able to cut your losses, call it a day and just take the loss. To avoid abuse of the loot system, I would be fine with this only being available to you if you're the only person left on the team.
TL;DR
In Skirmish, if your teammates quit it rarely gives you new ones. This makes the matches super boring and unpleasant when one kid won't leave. Improve the speed of the matchmaking to give people new teammates faster OR add an option to concede defeat and take the loss to save your K/D ONLY IF you are the last person on your team. Call it a day and on to the next match.
Thoughts?

Just need to adjust player's power depending on the imbalance. Either make the one guy super strong or the three guys weaker.

Edited by Ryu Knight98: 11/17/2014 3:04:31 AMOnce, i had a game like this where i was alone vs 3 enemies. It resulted in me running around the map and they were chasing me and for some reason NOT shooting at me. Eventually, they cornered me so i couldn't run anywhere and shoulder charged me into a wall and then danced and group tea bagged me :( Usually, when i'm playing with my friends and there's only 1 enemy on the other team, we just start a dance party with him/her and fool around until either the game puts more people in the game or the timer runs out. What they could do with quitting is put in the Halo: Reach quit ban system. But if they do, it shouldn't punish the last player to leave. Otherwise, it results in this... (See video link)

I've always thought of the idea to make the score limit lower, so if two people leave off the bat, you don't need to kill 1 kid constantly till you get 5000 score or the timer runs out
-
People quit skirmish it because it usually turns into "whoever wins the initial heavy weapon fights crushes the other team."
-
How about stop being an ass hole that thinks there good at the game for playing in a party. I like skirmish but its people like you that jump in with a full party and camp in a corner against randoms to try and prove something. Then when two people leave you get all cocky and start t bagging the last player every time you kill them like your some how magically good at the game. I swear its always the shit players playing In a full group in skirmish since that's the only place they can get over a 1.0 k/d.
-
I stopped skrimish due to going an entire day where my teams would bail suddenly. Very few games I manage to keep the score close until I get teammates and that's IF I get them.
-
they should just have a ranking system. tired of getting retards on my team. .
-
-blam!- skirmish, scrub mode.
-
Takes a while because it's not as popular as other modes and not many people play it
-
I only hate it when the other team leaves cause it's just boring sure. When people on your team leaves it's a better challenge I usually win anyways and no I don't always go in with a fire team and when I do it's kinda boring. For me I've never left a game unless I've been disconnected that's it haha
-
My teammates always leave...
...because I can dominate three level 30s in Exotic gear with a level 20 in Uncommon gear!
-
I send the one person a message saying "You 1v1 soandso" the other two get sit together in one part off map if they go over there and shoot at the two those two destory them.

Edited by iximinionixi: 11/14/2014 11:37:51 PMmy fire team has this happen to us A LOT as well, but i disagree, i think when a PvP match is started it should be locked in, no one should be able to join and no one should be able to leave unless you dashboard or turn your box off. edit: if they are giving you an easy button to quit there needs to be a penalty like a loss of rep or a downgrade to a random piece of armor or weapon.
-
I really wanted to play Skirmish, i really did. It's unplayable, because people like you (i'm not judging you) enter with their Fireteam and start annihilating us, why? Because the -blam!-ing randoms go to wander around and NO ONE sticks together, it's so frustrating because the other team always work like a team, but the randoms' team? Lol no, if you go to kill those guys by yourself you're going to get your ass shot because they're 3, yet they don't understand the simple concept of teamwork and we keep losing. Damn it.

The problem with Crucible currently is there isn't much incentive outside of having fun, and the odd chance at some nice reward. No rewards are guaranteed; it's all RNG, and the amount of exp earned is insignificant. There is also no penalty for losing or quitting. This could potentially be fixed with a good ranking system similar to the Halo Games. Winners gain rank and potentially could have access to better rewards. Losers/quitters lose rank and receive lesser rewards. And players could be matched on ranking leading to more balanced matches. This is just an idea of how crucible could work. I think it would make things a bit more fun, challenging, and rewarding. What do you guys think?
-
Most random matched teams i have to play with dont understand concept of skirmish. They wander off lone wolf die 20 times and eventually quit out. If we ever get voice chat to work then it wont be nearly as bad.
-
Edited by Ryu Knight98: 11/14/2014 10:35:32 PMMeanwhile on Halo MCC, matchmaking keeps starting a game with 2 vs 4, 3 vs 5 etc...
-
I've loaded into games that are 2 vs 6 before including me. Got totally slaughtered. Props to people who stay!
-
If we could get team chat, I'm sure people would quit less. As it is, I try and play but when it's obvious my team doesn't grasp the concept of working together and reviving when needed, I bail. One person can't carry Skirmish when the other team is working together
-
I agree its super frustrating when your tracking one guy down because the other two quit. Whats just as frustrating tho is match after match of my team absolutely demolishing the other team until they quit. I like a little competition you know? What im saying is, they need a ranking system exclusively for pvp. That way my team gets matched up with players of similar skill levels.
-
Would be great if they could somehow penalty nerf quiters for say a three match total..not sure if thats possible but a penalty on weps and supers would hurt anyone that only wants to win.
-
Edited by The 7th fall: 11/14/2014 9:09:09 PMWell the mentality of most PvPers in Destiny is once your losing and you think you won't come back, just quit out. Same thing happened in the Iron Banner, if the other team was losing and knew they couldn't come back, often they'd quit because they get no Iron Banner rep, and the likelihood of good RNG loot goes out the window. The real problem with Crucible quitting is due to the lack of rewards, and the stupid RNG... Bungie needs to give better rewards for both winning and losing, then your quittiers will stay more often than leave.
-
I agree, provisionally, as long as the match still counts towards the crucible bounty for everyone on the map when the loser concedes. No reason to suffer through that just because nobody you know is online when you're trying to get s**t done before the nightly raid run.
-
I agree with what you are saying as I have played a game in the past where I was with 1 other guy against 4 or 5 and it was no longer a game it was a slaughter as the other team stuck together so me and the other guy had no chance. I would like to see some option like you have noted introduced in this mode to allow a match that is no longer fun to be abandoned if most of the players agree due to an in balance in the teams. I think a vote system would work like I have seen in some multiplayer games in the past.
-
I agree. Constantly hunting that one stubborn player.
