Last Word vs. Devil You Know. Which is better?
As an avid HandCannoner (two of my 3 chars use one, the 3rd one uses a Scout) I am quite interested in what Xanta Xur brought today. On those two chars, one has a fully upgraded Lord High Fixer, and the other one has an almost-there Devil You Know. Both have proven to be very versatile, powerful weapons, but Devil You Know seemed to be a bit better.
Now, between those two (TLW/TDYK) which Hand Cannon would you consider the better one?
PS: Anyone wishing to start a debate about "earning", please close the door when you leave, thanks.
PS2: [i]Thorn, Fatebringer, Hawkmoon[/i]..... [b]Don´t post just to mention those[/b], because I don´t have those guns, therefore I am not interested in comparisons at the time.

Tdyk was my first 300 hand cannon. Loved it but dismantled it when I was lucky enough to get 3 fate bringers. Tlw is just good fun and looks awesome.

1 ReplyIm fortunate to have one of the best RNG TDYK with Third Eye (radar stays active) and Spray and Play (faster reloads when mag is empty). This is by far my best PvE go to gun. i have been experimenting with Lightweight, Flared Magwell, and Skip Rounds. I'm torn between Lightweight and Flared Magwell (+agility or reload even faster). Im not a fan of Skip Rounds. I prefer my Shadow Price for PvP I dont own TLW but im thinking about getting one. but with only being able to equip one exotic weapon i rather carry my Thunder Lord.

Different play styles, it's whatever you prefer. Last Word is more effective at CQC, I'll say that for sure

I have both fully upgraded TDYK - all round awesomeness TLW - fun and decent in PvP and that's about it

i really depends on your play style. if you like to sit in the back and pop heads at a slow and steady rate, the devil you know is your gun. if you like to get up abit closer, mid range or closer, and you use TLW like a handcannon and not an auto rifle, the last word may be your gun. the last word lacks the range of most handcannons but it is still accurate and damaging. you can run in poppin heads as fast as you can aim and pull the trigger and the kick of the gun when not going full retard is the lightest of any handcannon bringing your gun back to target in a tiny fraction of the time it takes any other handcannon. and when the shit hits the fan and something big is charging at you... there is always full retard backup. I'd rather have fatebringer with me in the raid or weekly (the headshot=nade thing makes up for the slower firerate)... but for patrols and strikes TLW is going to be a hell of a fun gun to use.

Have a maxed out TDYK, my favorite primary gun I have in the game, makes me think of Dirty Harry wielding Hell Boys 'Big Baby'! Don't have TLW so ....

In pvp TLW wins, but honestly my Lord High Fixer is better than The Devil.... Idk why everyone likes it. My High Fixer has a sub 2 second reload, the range of a scout rifle, head shots for 1.5k, accurate as -blam!-, and 1 round less than the Devil. Not to mention I still keep my radar.... P.s: I own both, with other variants of both as well

I have both and TDYK is fully upgraded... I'd have to go with TDYK it got me though the raid countless times and it's so fun to use

TDYK is a beast. 600+ crit dmg on bosses, 1000-1500 on lower grade enemies (even at 28) TLW is slowly proving inferior to TDYK, but I'm still going to upgrade it.

The Devil You Know is good for pve while The Last Word is really good for pvp.

TDYK because everyone will cry at you because they got lucky getting it dropped and you worked your butt off for the strange coins

TDYK-PvE TLW-PvP Bought TDYK about a month ago from Vanguard. Was rewarded TLW for completing the VoG.

The hip firing puts Last Word on another level. Devil You May Know has the benefit of not taking up an exotic slot though. Basically I use Devil because I want to equip Gjally.

The Devil You Know is a fantastic weapon. No tricks, no gimmicks, just an honest to God hand cannon. The Last Word on the other hand is a little trickier to use, with its flashy animations and pretty severe recoil. However the recoil can be reduced once you level it up and the special ability gives bonus damage to precision damage, which in my opinion is the hand cannon's bread and butter. If you can deal with the flashy, sometimes distracting animations and stick through for the skill tree, go with the Last Word. But if you just want a strong hand cannon, no tricks, go with the Devil You Know.

There both pretty awesome I've went 20-1 with tdyk on my lock and 29-7 with last word on my hunter. Both really good guns to say the least.
