As an avid HandCannoner (two of my 3 chars use one, the 3rd one uses a Scout) I am quite interested in what Xanta Xur brought today. On those two chars, one has a fully upgraded Lord High Fixer, and the other one has an almost-there Devil You Know. Both have proven to be very versatile, powerful weapons, but Devil You Know seemed to be a bit better.
Now, between those two (TLW/TDYK) which Hand Cannon would you consider the better one?
PS: Anyone wishing to start a debate about "earning", please close the door when you leave, thanks.
PS2: Thorn, Fatebringer, Hawkmoon..... Don´t post just to mention those, because I don´t have those guns, therefore I am not interested in comparisons at the time.

Should have made an option that they are equal.
-
TLW but I'm biased I never used a devil you may know.
-
TLW is the most fun I've had with any weapon
-
TLW is great for PvP. TDYK is okay for PvE. I use the Timur's lash (1500+ DMG per precision hit) or my fatebringer.
-
TLW for PVP, TDYK for PVE. if we are are talking about the store bought versions I would take TDYK over LHF

1 ReplyHawkmoon
-
Hawkmooooon!!!
-
TLW is good for Pvp and TDYK is good for Pve
-
I think TDYK is better for PVE where you can easily get critical hits. I find TLW easier to use in PVP since you can follow up a missed shot quickly.
-
Although both are solid for pvp and pve I prefer my last word for pvp and my TDYK for pve. Normally I run the last word in pve because I have it maxed.
-
TDYK overall ftw. TLW is a fun gun ONCE YOU GET PERFECT BALANCE, but before that it's very wild and anyone trying to tell you that it's effective at decent range is just kidding themselves and altering their play style to bring people closer where TLW shines.
-
2 RepliesI would say TLW has the edge because of its close range versatility with Fan Fire, very accurate from a distance too. The crowd control perk on TDYK puts it very close though.
-
3 RepliesThe red hand is best legend I've seen so far
-
Last word is great to look at, and can be good for quick repeating head shots. The devil has more rounds before reloading, a great rate of fire, and great reload time. I love westerns so I love the last word, but I think TDYK is better overall.
-
IMO The Devil You Know is the more practical gun (I mainly pve) but The Last Word is more fun to shoot.
-
4 RepliesI didn't particularly enjoy the full auto that TLW has. Just my preference.
-
TLW for CQC... TDYK for longer range
-
simple!!! tdyk
-
6 RepliesWell since they nerfed the last word (30% damage reduction) I'll go with TDYK.
-
I have both TDYK and TLW. Both are amazing HC for obvious reasons. TDYK for its field scout and stability perks, TLW for its hip fire and fan fire perks. I mostly use TDYK due to it being a Leg. Weapon and not taking up an exotic slot. But run both for a while and see which one suits your play style more.
-
Despite them both being handcannons, it's hard to compare them since they are different at the same time in terms of what you should do with them
-
Fatebringer and hawkmoon are the best all around imo. But TLW is pretty great for some close quarters actions
-
4 RepliesI've got TDYK maxed out with the perks that come from the store and I love it. "Send it" adds range that make this gun a beast in PvE. I've tried the Thorn and it's useful in PvP but too underpowered for PvE. I'm going to buy the Last Word today and see what it's like. It looks awesome but in certain PvE situations (Nightfall), the added range of TDYK would be hard to beat. Still, glad there's an exotic hand cannon to buy and hope it's as awesome to play with as it looks.

PvE=TDYK PvP=TLW

I have the TLW and TDYK, and I prefer the TDYK way over the TLW. The TLW's animation clobbers 3/4 of your screen, making it hard to aim for me. The auto fire fires so rapidly that I am prone to overkilling targets, or missing them for any but the first shot. The TLW does at least need quite a bit of practice to be handled well. The TDYK is just a well behaved standard hand cannon. The Vanguard version has some nice perks, one of them giving it range and precision comparable to a scout rifle. On top of that, it has 12 bullets in its drum. I have almost completely stopped using other primary guns because the TDYK has such a brutal punch, making it easy to stop even big enemies and destroy them very quickly.
