Faction Rewards. Is there really any point?
Other than buying their gear, once you get raid gear it seems that the factions are obsolete. Other than using their weapons what is the point of the factions? I mean other than adding some uniqueness to the game, it seems to fade out after completing level 3 for the faction because you get access to all the weapons, so why do they allow it to go past level 3? Does reaching level 20 get you anything special? A Ghost shell? Sparrow?

Its worthless but im still leveling up NM forever in hope of getting a Judgment shotty with max range perks, less spread when aiming and one random bullet deals significantly more damage. I want dat shit

I reached lv 12 with Dead Orbit earlier today and all they gave me was an ascendant energy. :/ Bungie could at least tweak it a bit, so that is gives a little bit more. I continue to rep with the hope that they'll give me something good. Hope is for fools. :/

I'm level 12 with new monarchy on my titan, no shaders and dismantled the hand cannon since I already have the devil you know and the last word lol Oh and thorn :/

There are weapons you can't buy from each Faction. For example, Venation III (Dead Orbit) and Red Hand IX (New Monarchy) are both Hand Cannons that aren't on their list to buy. If you're a HC user and you want to try those out, that's one reason. Or, you could try to get a weapon with better weapon perks. You can buy the Chance from Future War Cult, but they gave me one at around rank 4 with Field Scout, which more than doubled the cylinder size. There's also shaders you can get from each of them. Haven't had any luck with those yet personally.

1 ReplyEvery faction has weapons you cannot purchase. So levelling them up gives you a higher chance to obtain those instead of just hoping to get engrams? I got the calming from fwc. :) best fusion rifle imo

20 RepliesYes there is a point. It's called crucible. You shouldn't be wearing the raid gear the entire time. Say you roll with a Auto rifle in PVP. It's better to have gauntlets to increase the reload speed of auto rifles, it's better to have boots that increase the ammo capacity of auto rifles. There is different situations for each armor. Raid gear is for the raid. All other gear is WAY better for PVE and PVP.

2 RepliesI am almost rank 40 in fwc and have recieved almost all their weapons and i have all their shaders. No real point right now until the Dark Below dlc drops. They will have Exotics then.

Now my chatter white is in the vault and I'm running around looking like noob sabot from mortal Kombat. Lol. Ninja warlock looking beastly. There is a purpose. You just gotta keep grinding. It's not really that hard. And you get weapons that are not immediately sold. In the raid I live and die by my preffered fusion rifle....which is a dead orbit legendary that is not sold. It's a monster....almost plan c stats in a legendary. Destroys plaetorians in hard raid. Some times you gotta roll the dice brother. I am looking forward to them exotic class items as well. The only way to get that is to have your faction a proper rank yet to be determined. What they do is a mystery. Even if they don't really add anything....having it equipped should be a reward in itself

2 RepliesIt's all RNG. People rave about the legendary gun/armor they got from their faction package after level 3, but I'm level 8 with Dead Orbit and they haven't sent me one purple item, its always a mote or coin or shard, nothing good. However I have a friend who gets a ton of good stuff every package, so it just depends. His last one from FWC for rank 5 he got a legendary shotgun and chest piece in addition to a strange coin so if you have good luck with RNG you might want to try leveling them.

You get a nice gun or something legendary. level 3 and past. i got a legendary engram that turned into a rocket launcher and i got a cool flag for a background. Now they are saying you can get shaders, they say the dead orbit ones are cool, i want to get all except fwc.

I've been ranking up New Monarchy in hopes of getting a Vanquisher with the field scout perk. I did get a Prudence II and I must say that I love it. Head shot machine. Reminds me of those backpack sized Russian sniper rifles that are easily assembled and disassembled.

thats probably the hardest grind of all. lol getting your faction gear only to be replaced shortly by raid gear.

You can receive legendary weapons they don't sell. I got the final rest fusion rifle which is decent. And also rare shaders. I got bittersteel at rank 8.

I've started earning faction rep with all 3 my characters after a while my vanguard rep would just give me repeat stuff so figured I would change it. Not gonna actually buy anything from them just gonna keep going round in rank and see if it leads to getting some decent rewards for that reason it's worth doing since you can be rewarded with weapons you can't purchase from there vendors.

2 RepliesTheres not really a point and anyone saying different needs to get a life .. They spread out legendarys so a different factions get diffrent types .. The only important reps are vanguard and crucible for the first legendaries .. and their rank 3's for legendary weapons... The difference is minor .. its just more grinding for very little reward. And those sayin each rank after 3 scores you an item .. it means nothing in the face of a random draw or the limited items the vendor has to offer ..even with perks ...

You can get rewarded with guns that they don't sell.. Like the red hand.. Is a hand cannon for New monarchy.. But he doesn't sell it.. Along with the sniper.. And pulse rifle

Weapons you cant buy but are still faction, shaders, ships (I think?). Takes longer than Crucible or Vanguard ranks but I have gotten guarantee grape items (although it may be a class item/shader), which was better than Vanguard random for me.

The random gear you get on leveling up has different modifiers. Can get some great stuff.

Like black? Join dead orbit. You're not getting a black shader from the vanguard or crucible guys, so why let it all go to waste?

Every level past 2 gives you a faction item. Not all faction items are sold by the vendor. Every faction has multiple shaders they don't sell. There are ships on DestinyDB for factions too.
