13 RepliesI'll be doing the Work raid, on the Thursday difficulty. It starts off in the Tower, choosing my armor and shader for the task ahead. Then I visit the local vendors, namely the Fridge-405 bot and Keurig the Awoken, a Warlock who provides the essential energy synthesis called "coffee". Once preparations are complete, I start the raid. The first part involves a race against other Guardians in a PvP mode called "Traffic". Think Mario Cart, but instead of mushrooms and banana peels, I have "putting on makeup and not paying attention girl" and "'I get more done before 8 am than most people do all day' cell phone guy" swerving into my lane. Once this part is complete I finally meet the rest of the fireteam and we navigate through some corridors to the first chest, where most of us just get the usual "glazed", but one lucky Guardian manages to pull the exotic "chocolate covered Boston-cream filled". As fireteam leader, I then issue the plan for the rest of the raid. We discuss anything interesting we found since the last run, and adjust our plan accordingly. We then start the long and treacherous Maze of Morning. We fight many smaller, but still annoying mobs. With limited ammo drops, one can be easily overwhelmed during this phase, and the "coffee" synthesis is essential to survival. Once this is complete you come to probably the most dangerous boss: Hunger. The Work raid is designed is such a way that there are many, many ways this fight can go. Almost no two encounters are the same. Today, RNGesus blesses the fireteam: we gain the "Manufacturer's Rep Comes Into Town and Buys Lunch" buff, making this boss a cakewalk. After Hunger is summarily defeated, we get the "product brochure" and "company logo pen" items. The next phase is a puzzle, where all team members get teleported to different areas of the map, have to collect a certain number of special items called "sales calls" and then return to the raid starting area within the time limit. This part of the raid requires the most focus by each individual, but a good plan and execution can yield the special secret boss. Today, we execute well, and are rewarded with perhaps the greatest challenge the raid has to offer: 3 pm Sexual Harassment Training Meeting. This boss fight is a grueling, 1 hour slug fest with Cathie (that's right, with an "ie" at the end), Queen of the House of HR. She uses the brutal attack "boredom", which causes the debuff "exhaustion", where the world slowly goes dark around you. You must cleanse yourself quickly by pressing the stretch button, running to the "Font of Cool Water", and drinking of the "Spring of Crystals". At random parts of the encounter, she will turn her "gaze of bitter middle-aged divorcee" upon random fireteam members. If you are caught with the "exhaustion" debuff still active, it's a wipe. We complete this fight and get the customary "Sexual Harassment Policy" Grimoire card. We open the chest at the end of the room and are glad to see the shower of "Pastry" and "Fruit" engrams. The raid ends with an escape sequence. We must take the same paths we took to get to the raid back to our own instanced Tower, just backwards. We are met with different obstacles, such as the "minivan with 7 screaming kids" and the "guy who started drinking at lunch and never looked back". When I finally get to the tower, I take just a moment to dream of playing Destiny. That dream is dashed by the sudden arrival of the epic world event: Wife and Kids!!!

6 RepliesWell, I'm at work and will be here throughout the maintenance window. So I guess I get to play "Real Life" for about nine hours. The graphics are amazing, but the story sucks. Hopefully the sequel will be better. lel

1 ReplyI guess I'll play Unity. It's sad that the whole reason I purchased an xbox one was to play unity. I preordered when I purchased my console. While I was there I decided to pick up this new game called Destiny. Tuesday when Unity was released I went to pick it up and headed home to play. After about 20 minutes Destiny started nagging at me about cheating on it with Unity. Needless to say I shut off Unity and haven't touched it sense. Damn you bungie for addicting me to Destiny
