you can see in the poll that there's more Americans than European's but the word comes from Greek mythology which is European so the "correct" way is Mineohtaur if you say it in English (that's actual English and not american English, you know the language from England duh) ;-p

I would personally pronounce it as /mɪnətɔr/, seeing as it's closer to the original Greek and Latin pronunciations. However, using the pronunciation with the diphthong is equally correct. Seems to be a BrE vs AmE thing, but seeing as it's not exactly an everyday word that gets pronounced an awful lot, you might not find a lot of proof either way.
